Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
Can be good all you need to do is have your remote in hand
Good effects, good fighting scenes, poor character development, mediocre acting and on the worst side, the oh so old and tired clichê - I Hate my father, I hate my family. You can have fund wathing it, however you will need your remote and FF 1/3 of each epsiode. The flash backs will.bore.you out of your mind and every 1 in 5 scenes as wells. In fact, after episode 3 yoy can just FF till you find an action scene. Guaranteed fun.
The Shannara Chronicles (2016)
It has potential
So much potential.. nice production, picture, landscaping, soundtrack, special effects, all are quite good for a TV Series. There aren't many shows now days combining all of these elements, particularly in this genre. But it does have its flaws in my opinion two major ones... at least so far (6th episode). The acting is mediocre for most characters with main actress Amberle, being by far the worst. You think Kristen Stewart is bad wait until you see Poppy Drayton, all her acting and emotions are resumed in maybe and yes, I am being generous, 3 facial expressions! You will never know whether she's happy, scared, crying.. it all looks quite the same. Another major issue is the fact that the script tip toes on the border line of teen stupidity way too often. It's quite sad because the whole thing has so much potential often I feel like the age bracket could kick up a notch. But hey it's MTV and that's their public right? The good thing is as I mentioned it sort of tip toes on this issue so you will experience some adult dialogs and scenes with Manu Bennett (Allanon) acting as the adulthood anchor. He gives the story some credibility. Without him it's like kinder garden meets The Hunger Games with a sprinkle of Lord of the Rings. If you can get past the sub par acting and all the teen cheesiness you will have a good time and it will be a nice addition to your Series ''Portfolio'.
The Walking Dead: Welcome to the Tombs (2013)
Weakest Season Finale from all times
Wow... what a disappointment. Coming from an incredibly slow second season where people just couldn't stand that farm anymore, the third season promised a lot from the first few episodes. But all of our hopes were thrown away starting with the third to last episode.. The one where they chat on a table during the entire episode, OK to be honest they killed one walker lurking around as a comic relief maybe. Up until the 13th episode things had gradually piled up so that us viewers would believe an all out war would be inevitable at some point, climaxing after Rick and Carl found all those guns, and we all saw it: Assault rifles, grenades, shot guns, explosives even body armor for crying out loud. Than o the second to last episode nothing happens, leaving the season finale as a promise of war. Far from it, the governor assembles his group of people to invade the prison, they all come in at 100% blowing the tower, busting through the gates. They start making their way in and I was certain Ricks people would ambush them at any moment and just show some firepower but instead they all bail out at the sound of three miserable firecrackers, can't even call those a bomb. Think about it.. After they all bailed out, you'd think Rick's group would follow them and fire ONE bullet
but no. The governor himself had to kill nearly all his man just so we could get some action on the season finale. Resuming lamest season finale I've ever seen from all times.
Defiance (2013)
Change the name to'' Clichénce''
Just got done watching the second episode and all my fears from the Pilot episode have come true. This is another ''Terra Nova'' series disguised in different clothing. You'd figure they'd steer clear from anything like Terra Nova after the series got canceled but no. We have the exact same ingredients recycled here: Bad CGI, cheesy characters, endless clichés, childish behavior from practically all characters and a slow non hooking plot. Producers can't seem to grasp the idea of what a 30 year war against 8 different alien invaders would do to humanity. Instead of a Mad Max society which if pretty close to what we'd have under those conditions, they throw in Disneyland full of human rights advocates where humans can't stand to look at an alien ritual to punish a war deserter. It's so predictable that you can tell right away just from the opening scene what will happen, down to the lines they will use in the arguments. . Overall characters stories are shallow and predictable. Acting is terrible if you are a Hanna Montana's fan you might be able to endure some of it. All their lines, actions and decisions are based upon century old overly exploited Clichés. Sad disappointment.
