Too Old to Die Young: Volume 10: The World (2019)
I have never have been so mad over an ending!!
*** NO SPOILERS***
If you want to watch episode 10, do not read my review!!!!!!!!!!
This episode totally ruined the entire series. It was about 30 minutes of nonsensical garbage that has no payoff and leaves the viewer empty inside!! Up until to the end of episode 8, I was loving this!!! I mean thinking this was NWR's best work!! What in the T total F&$cK was he doing when ended it with this garbage a$$ BS??!!!
Generally I love Nicholas' work.. but why hasn't he been slapped repeatedly for this crap??!!!! Episode 9 was okay and you are thinking ok, I didn't look anything up on 10, but I was thinking it's going to be an hour and half or longer and tie this all up with a pretty bow.
Not!! Refn has his privates out and urinated all down his leg!! Shame on you NWR!!! You could have had a masterpiece with this, but you will not get a pass from me here!! WTF was the director thinking?? He started huffing gasoline around season 8 ending. Jesus I wasted about 14-15 hrs of my life!!! Such a great show until season 9, maybe even season 8.
If you are going to do crazy S h I t on the screen at least give the viewers more of why did you !!! Instead leading them down a endless road!! Yea I am pissed!!!!?
The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)
It's okay, not compelling enough
I liked the movie with Matt and was excited to see this dropping. So far after 4 episodes I am captivated enough to try and finish. Seems slow and so far boring. I mean it's watchable, but extra average. It tries to check all the boxes. I want elaborate further by that meaning. It's good to see Neve back on the screen. She has aged pretty well. Mickey Haller's character is lackluster and rather dull. His blonde assistant ex wife x2 dating his PI is doing decent enough. The PI with his 4 pack a day sounding voice is rather annoying. I can even take Mickey's client/ driver. Not sure I will finish this. Much better programming on Netflix and elsewhere. This series isn't terrible, but not fantastic.
Yeonmo (2021)
Started out nice......
I am huge K drama fan! Period pieces like this are usually outstanding. Rookie Historian, as well as a few others are fabulous! I'm on episode 7 and I can't force myself to continue with another 13 episodes. The story after several episodes Is silly and unbelievable! The story is slow and boring. I do not care for the homosexual undertones either. No I'm not homophone. I watch romantic K- dramas I can relate with. This isn't one. I so wanted to enjoy this. There are many people that do like this. I cannot finish it. The crown prince doesn't even pass off well standing by other cast members. She looks small and weak in comparison. It was a neat idea to try it as far as the story goes. I was really liking eps 1-5.
Maybe you will like it.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Turned out fairly well!
For those that bash it and say it's too much like this or that... whatever. I will admit the premise of being of a plane almost made me not watch it as I generally find those type of movies dull and boring. But I'm glad I have this one a chance. A critic at Ebert didn't enjoy it, but those guys are almost always wrong! Same in this case. The Ebert critic didn't care for the flashbacks. I did! They helped tell the story. Without saying too much, it's best to cold watch it without reading much about it. It was a nice surprise and an interesting twist to the genre. At least give it a chance!
After Fall, Winter (2011)
Watch Fall first then watch After Fall, Winter
In order to fully appreciate this movie I personally feel you should have seen Fall first. I guess After Fall, Winter could be considered a sequel NOT that it is fully presented that way. Fall was absolutely wonderful in my opinion and reviewers on amazon support my opinion of it. I will tell you about first briefly to line up my quick review of After Fall. Fall Premise: NY cab driver/ writer who meets a fashion model who is married and they have a steamy affair which turns into love. It is a dialog driven movie with a unique character study. I will not tell how it ends, but came out in 1996-97 if I recall correctly and leaves the viewer to decide the outcome.
Which leads us to After Fall, Winter. The whole idea about watching Fall to begin with gives you a better understanding of the character MIchael Shiver in both movies. It shows what became of him some 15 years later of after Fall. I will not go into detail about my review because if you loved Fall, I do not want to give anything away. Watch with an open mind. With all that said, this movie could be a stand alone movie and understood.
In a way I was left disappointed with the ending, but on the other hand I wasn't because it shows you what love does to you and what MIchael turned out to become. If you ever have loved deeply both of these movies NEED to be watched. After Fall was not as good as Fall, but it was good. If you try and pick this movie apart it will ruin the experience. Yes some of it is far fetched, but what movie is not most of the time?
