Just how far would a father go for their child?
1 December 2013
This film amazed me as I am not normally into this genre. I went in not expecting anything really but by the end I was captivated and really cheering Walker on.

Paul Walker does an amazing job and he made the film for me, his emotion and grit shone through. By the end I found myself emotionally attached to the story and really immersed in the story.

The Film is set during Hurricane Katrina, but this is not a politically motivated or typical Hollywood portrayal. This is a survival story above all and I applaud Paul Walker in his role.

RIP my friend.

Chav Tarantino
26 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I found the ending funny, i could imagine the chav getting in with the latvian girl and driving off, completely forgetting about his unconscious mum on the living room floor.

The film felt a bit like a Tarantino films at time, but its too short and i feel more scenes on the road could of played out more. A few more characters would of been good.

The acting was good and the casting was spot on. The chav from skins done a good job of playing himself.

When was that non amg mercedes c-class worth 60k? 2001? attention to detail mate.

Not a Danny Boyle Film!
4 April 2013
I watched an interview with Danny Boyle a few weeks ago. He was talking about how good it was to work with James McAvoy in his new film. He went on to talk about some really interesting scenes and had me hooked.

So when i saw the poster for this film with a dark broody London scene and McAvoy standing there i thought get in there! However this is not Danny Boyle's film (Trance) this is something altogether more disappointing.

It was not immediately clear as the first scene had great cinematography but after about 2 minutes it was clear i was in the wrong film! The story fell apart after the second scene, there was no character development. The protagonist had his knee cap blown off and that was about it, we were supposed to relate to this guy? I don't understand why having McAvoy put on a clearly fake cockney accent added to the film at all? Would have been more believable in his native Scott accent.

The actors were wasted on what could have been a lot more if the characters had more substance.

Get a taxi.
3 April 2013
When i heard Paul walker was in a film which involved driving i expected a Brian o'Connor fast and furious spin off. However this film is slightly more than that.

It is filmed entirely from within the car which is an interesting concept, the cinematography is good considering the limited space they must of had. However i feel this concept restricted and dictated the story-line.

The story however got a bit unbelievable at times and i kept shouting at Paul to ditch the car and just get a taxi!

I enjoyed the film and its something different which i think is great!

Overall a good watch as long as go in with an open mind, Paul walker pulled off a believable performance.
