Interview with the Vampire: What Can the Damned Really Say to the Damned (2024)
Fantastic!
This is an amazing adaptation of the novels. I have read all of the vampire chronicles. No it isn't the same as the novels but Anne Rice herself signed off on all the changes before she passed. She also executive produced season one. And posthumously Executive produced season two. Her estate is involved with the show. Her son is a producer. So all these people saying it isn't the same...of course it isn't. Things have to be modernized and adapted to fit a modern Audience. And...it was approved BY Anne Rice herself. That's why it's an ADAPTATION. Little creative license goes a long way...So shut up and enjoy a fantastic tale!
Quantum Leap (2022)
Pleasantly Surprised
I went into watching the new Quantum Leap with a very biased opinion based upon the fact that the original was one of my favorite shows as a kid...after watching the premier however, I'm very impressed. They kept the spirit of the original intact while updating it for a modern audience. The pilot starts out as a slow burn but definitely gets better, and it has multiple nods to its predecessor. Now I will say this, I can already tell that it won't be everyone's cup of tea. But I do suggest if you were a fan of the original, give this one a chance. Don't base your entire opinion on the pilot episode...
Doctor Who: The Timeless Children (2020)
Phenomenal Season Finale!
Saw a lot of negative comments about the season finale of Doctor Who last night. Upon finally watching the episode I have no idea why people hated it so much. I thought it was phenomenal. One of the best episodes in a long time. And that's saying a lot coming from me. I have big one of the biggest proponents of the show since Jodie Whittaker took over. But this newest season has given me a bit more hope for the show! This episode in particular offers so much more to the lore of "The Doctor". And the concept of regenerations prior to William Hartnell has been touched on before with I believe it was the fourth doctors run. And the Master...one of the best yet! Great Episode!
A Christmas Carol (2019)
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Let me start by saying never once have a written a review on here before. I have never felt the need because the reviews I have seen here reflected my opinion quite well. I have always been a fan of period style films and novels, so when I heard about this darker version of a beloved story from my childhood I was a little wary of it. A Christmas Carol is one of my all time favorite Novellas/Films. I felt a little biased going I to this. I was afraid I wasn't going to enjoy it. I have never been so pleased to be wrong. This version of the classic story feels so much more real and human than any other version I have ever seen. No it isn't in the style a traditional holiday classic, however it really humanizes the character of Ebenezer Scrooge and the times in which the original Novella was written and the time period in which it takes place. People are on here bashing it because of the darker tone. What most don't realize is that during that time period things of that nature did occur quite frequently. Of course we don't learn them in history class and whatnot, but they did happen. I am so happy with how FX and the BBC showed life in 1842. Another thing I would like to touch on is Guy Pearce's performance as Scrooge. He did a phenomenal job. This really shows the range of his acting abilities. He plays it so well! So to anyone reading this, I highly recommend watching this! I know I will be watching it again and again.
