The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia (2013)
much better than the first!!
I was hesitant renting this movie tonight but I absolutely loved it! The storyline was cool and historic and scary and also had a sweet ending I loved the fact gordy turned out to be the good guy!! It was pretty suspenseful at times and I liked the historic feel to it!!! It was also very interesting that the women in the family have special gifts The women in my family also have similar qualities so I really liked that
Only thing that kinda got on my nerves was the fake Georgia accents!!! I also was not a big fan of Joyce she was more annoying than I felt she needed to be!!
I loved the fact this is tied to real life events those are always cool! Go gordy! Free the slaves!!!! 7/10
Ted Bundy (2002)
More positive than negative
This was a pretty good movie could have been better if it was a little more accurate. I understand changing the victims names up considering there are still living families of the victims and that certainly would anger them, not that the film itself already does so. But, I wish they would have included Stephanie in the film which is one of the women psychologists believe threw him off the deep end. I don't like how they portrayed Ted majoring in law before psychology because I'm pretty sure he did well majoring in psychology but then changed it to pre law and flunked, probably due to his increased consumption with murder. I felt the film over exaggerated the way Ted acted and portrayed him as more of a whiney wuss. Ted was flawed psychologically but he didn't reveal it as obviously as the film showed. He was much more smooth. Other than those errors, I think the film did an excellent job telling the story and getting the point across. You won't regret watching. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed it although she couldn't watch certain scenes because of the graphic murders. It's a good movie to watch if you're interested in Ted Bundy.
The Collection (2012)
First one was better, but not bad
I feel the rating is accurate with a 6 out of 10. Could be a 5 but it's a pretty good film, reminds me of Saw more than 'The Collector' did. Very gory and a little outrageous with the violence actually. It's not as realistic as the first one (even though neither are) simply based off of the first killing scene. No serial killer could get away with such crimes in reality especially one who studies bugs for a living and doesn't at least have military training to make him the badass he's portrayed as being. But I'm not going to be such a pessimist, it wasn't bad. It was a relatively short film so it's straight to the point. If you're a fan of violence and gore this is your film.
The Ward (2010)
Great movie worth watching
The Ward was well put together and full of suspense that keeps you wondering and guessing with a touch of a few scares to go along with it. This is definitely one of Carpenter's more clever films. This isn't just about a killer running around terrorizing hapless people, it's much more complex than that and I'm glad Carpenter did it this way to change it up. Some people are saying this film has been done before and that might be true but not in this way at all. I'm a fan of movies where the main character all along was just mentally insane and the strange phenomena was all a constituent of their disorder. Some movies like this aren't good but this one sure is. Only thing i disliked was the psychiatrist's abnormally thin ties. It's a must watch!
Dead End (2003)
?
WHAT THE HECK are people thinking when giving this movie anything over a 2 star rating? My boyfriend and I are avid horror movie watchers (this is our shared account.) and this is by far the worst "thriller" movie I have EVER seen! My boyfriend dropped it back off at the rental after we watched it because he didn't even want it sitting in his room. THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL PEOPLE WHO LIKE GOOD MOVIES- do not get this movie, you will be so disappointed. First off, the personality changes in this movie make absolutely no sense-especially the mother suddenly being so hungry and happy right after her son dying- TF? It's strange how they show no emotion at all when someone is killed. Also, the "ghost" story the dad tries to tell his daughter is so typical and cliché. "A family of four died in car wreck-on this road." So not scary. I was expecting something cool and witchy and most importantly-scary. Wasn't at all- it was a sad attempt at being funny and scary, it was neither. The scariest part was at the very end after the credits how they show a random family photo of them? It was honestly tacky and ridiculous. Thanks to you users who made me believe this was a good movie with your high ratings. Makes me feel like I've been punk'd.
Doll Graveyard (2005)
all the nights you lay awake
To be made in 2005 this seemed hauntigly similar to a 90s American pie to movie full of raunchy teenagers enjoying alcohol drugs and sex. The dolls reminded me of something that would have been in a nicklelodian movie and looked like it was made in someone's backyard. I compared it to the movie "teeth" when the young man's penis was jabbed by one of the dolls and a ridiculous amount of blood spilt everywhere. Might as well have been a 90s comedy with the bad puns and boyz to men soundtrack. The characters in this movie at often times made me feel uncomfortable with their over sexual behavior and stupidity I particularly hated the stupid jock. This movie was also over the top bloody for each situation. However it was entertaining
