The Blacklist: Raymond Reddington (No. 00): Good Night (2023)
Red ended "Red's Way"
I wept at the end. The end of everything boiled down to the most basic of things, to end things on one's own terms. No fancy escape, no mirrors or tricks, just listening to Dembe describing how Red lived life and faced his own mortality. So what if questions were left unanswered. This show started with questions, shouldn't it end with questions. I will miss this wonderful show, but in the end, as Red would say, it's not the end, it's the journey that counts. From the highs to the lows, from the twists and turns, far few too many Red speeches about living life or telling of an adventure down to the smallest of details that sweeps us up in the moment.
The Good Doctor: Teeny Blue Eyes (2021)
Christian Clemenson nails it
Christian Clemenson is such an awesome actor. The depth that he brings to this character, just as he did in "Boston "Legal", is incredible. The emotions conveyed over a simple mug are amazing. Hope he gets an Emmy shout out for this episode.
Prodigal Son: The Job (2020)
Tribute to "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly"
I love how this episode evolves into an extremely short tribute to "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" cemetery scene where you have 4 (in this case for the scene, as opposed to 3 in the movie), all posed with guns cocked and aimed at each other trying to figure out whom will shoot first. The setup was nice, but the subtle nod to the movie was the images of just the 4 opponent's eyes, flashing back and forth, just like the movie. Subtle, yet awesome tribute to the legendary scene of the movie.
Merlin: The Moment of Truth (2008)
Medieval rendition of Magnificent 7
The series version of "The Magnificent 7" storyline.
