Retro Puppet Master (1999)
An entertaining and enlightening addition to the Puppet Master series.
As being a fan of low budget films, I enjoyed this one greatly. It had a good story line that kept me paying attention throughout the whole movie. The acting was fine; I did like Greg Sestero casted as Andre Toulon. I liked the evil minions of SuTekh, with their powers and abilities. There was cool fighting sequences between good and evil. And, was pleased me most of all was the puppets! Their names, features, and abilities were quite interesting. And, let me tell you something; they kicked butt! With this film, it felt like a Full Moon classic again. It was a good entry. I recommend this film to all Puppet Master/Full Moon fans.
Puppet Master II (1990)
Great sequel to the original Puppet Master
I love the Puppet Master series. I found out about this great franchise during the summer of 2012. After watching and loving the first film, I decided to watch number 2. And I was very pleased. Puppet Master 2 keeps the feel of the first film and did well in many categories. Average acting, good gore, nice kills, plenty of puppet screen time, a good storyline, and an awesome ending. What's not to love about that? Now, if you're just a horror film watcher and not a fan of Puppet Master, good ol' Charles Band or Full Moon films, I don't really recommend this film. Otherwise, grab some popcorn, some friends who are fans of Puppet Master, a comfy seat and enjoy! Puppet Master Forever!
Puppet Master: Axis of Evil (2010)
An Awesome entry in the Puppet Master series
Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE Puppet Master fan. I like every movie, some I love. And when I watched this, I was very satisfied. The puppets were awesome for the screen time they were given and did what they do best. The acting was average, the gore was good, and the storyline was pretty good. The only errors (which I hate to point out) are the dialogue, amount of gore, and not as much screen time for the puppets as in other films, which was fine due to the budget. However, I only recommend this movie to Puppet Master fans or fans of Charles Band and Full Moon. If you are just a horror film watcher, you will be too judgmental of this film. Go Blade!
Castle Freak (1995)
Dark, sad, gory, and entertaining 90's Horror film
While I myself have not read any of H.P. Lovecraft's work,I believe this film is one of the better adaptations. Stuart Gordon, Jeffrey Combs, and Barbara Crampton are back again with "Castle Freak". I overall enjoyed this film. It has an interesting, sad plot, a tortured, deformed freak, and a divided family who has to deal with it before it kills them. Oh, not to mention rather disgusting and sickening gore, which I enjoyed.Although I have seen much better horror films before, I was entertained and enjoyed the movie. And, yes, this is one of Full Moon Features's better films. I recommend this film to H.P. Lovecraft fans, Stuart Gordon fans, Jeffrey Combs fans, and deformed freak fans.
House (1985)
Instant 80's Horror Classic, and one of my favorites
Undeniably, this film is underrated. People complain about its budget or actors. Really? First of all, William Katt was PERFECT for the role of mentally tough 'Nam veteran and author, Roger Cobb. Good ol' George Wendt as Harold, Roger's kind and understanding neighbor was perfect. Second, the ideas of House and its "events" that take place when Roger lives there is very imaginative, like being attacked by floating garden tools or a taxidermized swordfish coming back to life. My favorite ghosts and ghoulies from House would probably be the thing in the closet, the "Sandy- witch", and Big Ben. This movie was not made on a bug budget, but it certainly does well with what it had. I would easily recommend this to anyone who likes classic horror films.
Within the Rock (1996)
An better, underrated, well-made 90's Sci-Fi B-Movie
I'm one of those people that actually enjoy B-movies. Well, B-movies that aren't stupid. Anyways, I watched "Within the Rock" with very low expectations. My expectations were exceeded. Let's face it: 90'S Horror and Sci-Fi movies were mostly crap. However, this film manages to pull off being crappy with a good story, average acting, average effects, and a pretty cool monster. This film has cool fights, suspenseful jumps, and an interesting look at space-mining.For the little amount of money that was used for this film, it was used well. I recommend "Within the Rock" for anyone who will settle for an average, entertaining Sci-Fi flick.
