Little Lady Fauntleroy (2004)
A mocking and withered attack on a true British eccentric
we found this documentary on Netflix, I'd heard about Lauren's transition. I did not expect to be confronted with such a mocking and withered attack on an eccentric British family.
I felt like the entire family where on trial the entire documentary.
This whole documentary is an assignation on a collection of people.
The constant pauses and attempts to trap the the person in front of the camera, the awful organ music.
What an utter mess.
Watching stuff like this makes me realize and determine to produce good documentaries about interesting and unusual people.
Is this the dribble that was on TV 12 years ago?
Extant (2014)
Finally another great science fiction.
I have started so many science fiction series only to be let down by poor direction, horrific scripts and acting that is utterly awful. (e.g: V )
Extant is not one of those shows. The pathos is good, the acting is on point, aside from a few small characters, I believe the character development is very strong.
I am on episode 4 and have been fully engaged, and that is a lot for someone with a very low attention span.
I just hope that the show can continue to get good ratings so that they can finish the story.
I am fed up of starting American TV shows and the show being cancelled due to rating issues.
Character development and twists are vital to keep people engaged.
Show us stuff we have never seen before and people will keep watching!
El sexo de los ángeles (2012)
The power of three...
This film is shot in one of my most favourite cities in the world. Barcelona.
The story of three people who's lives become intertwined by a chance meeting.
The big question. Can three in a bed really work? I found this movie on Netflix and really enjoyed it. A wonderful story, beautifully shot. The cast were fantastic and each one of them played their roll really well.
I love Spanish films and this is no exception.
I was genuinely moved by many scenes in this film, and the moment when you realise how much they love each other, made me cry, which never happens.
This kind of tale could have easily become such a tragedy, but it is wonder for a change to have a story of this kind that ends of a feel good note.
Well done a to the brilliant cast, really really wonderful watch.
Cloud Atlas (2012)
A magnificent masterpiece of a film
I have been deeply moved by this film, which sends a strong and powerful message that really brings in the core of what Buddhism is really about. Cause and Effect.
Each one of us really does have the power to change the world and to make a difference. Locked within the lives of each of us is that potential, we only have to be courageous enough to stand up and take it.
This film has got me thinking a lot about cause and effect and the future.
How the past, present and future all exists simultaneously, each one slightly different.
Since the future is being "born" it is always in a state of flux, every changing, every shifting.
With every thought, word and deed you are giving birth to the future of this planet and in effect the entire universe.
For as I have said many times before, you and I are simply the Universe itself, becoming aware of itself.
You and I are the Universe, awoken.
