Dexter (2006)
The greatest
It's refreshing to see that there are still courageous people in showbiz. To take a novel like that, to resist the temptation of doing a 2h30 film in which would be impossible to achieve the psique intensity that Dexter transpires. This series, with great, great action, allows to see our inner sociopate, to understand the reasons for cruelty in a damaged world. It's definitely one of the best things I've ever seen, and I can wait until I get my hands on the novel.
Beware: sometimes it get gory: blood, lots of blood. Its not my wave, but it isn't gratuistious, and it can be easily overcome with some shut eyes.
Recommended to all who like good entertainment but is tiered of the empty explosions
10 *'s
Just a Kiss (2002)
One of the best ever
It is one of the best movies I've ever seen. The first (and unfortunately the only) time I saw "Just a kiss" was at Troia Film Festival (Setúbal, Portugal) with the director in one of the first rows. I had no idea what I was going for, I was amazed with the witty sense of humor, different style of special effects (very unique animations) and a very thought out story. Just for the most curious: the film was originally a play (I think written and stared by Ron Eldard) and was shot in New York in about a week by a group of actor friends. Its a simply great movie for those who don't go to the movie for big explotions and empty plots.
Shark Hunter (2001)
awful
a really awful movie about a 30 meters long shark. bad story bad discussions bad characters bad plot even a confusing ending a complete. a waist of time in my point of view I thought it was a TV movie, but then I saw it was not I cant imagine having paid to see this load of crap please avoid this movie at any cost. even if u liked jaws, which I averagely did, don't see it even if you have interests in paleontology, don't see it even if you like corny movies with corny actors, corny plots during corny TV time, do humanity a favor and do not, I repeat, DO NOT pollute your mind with this ridiculous excuse for a sci-fi animal thriller still, some people gave it a ten ranting... don't know if they were serious or not (but sincerely expect they weren't)
I Heart Huckabees (2004)
To rich for my blood
I don't consider myself a dumb guy, I got bored in the cinema with blockbusters like Misson Impossible 2 or Blade 2, but there are some movies that are just to much for my intellect, and IHH was one of them. It's not a David Lynch, so I got more than 10% of it, but it's not an easy film. I don't regret watching it, and I will watch it again (some day) to see I've I can get the (whole) picture. Still (and I don't consider myself a brain-dead cine lover) I didn't find it an easy movie...
Go see it, but go with caution. PS: I sincerely believe I will review my vote upwards in a few months time.
Check out Carol O'Connel - one of the best writers around
The Lost Angel (2005)
Really bad - keep away
This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen:
bad acting
bad story
bad characters
even bad scenarios Did this movie went to the cinemas? If it did... I would want to be the poor guy who payed ticket Not even the sex scene (which appeared out of nowhere) was not worthy of special attention
Does anybody know Carol O'Connell? She's a great new york writer. I've any of her books is transformed into movies. See it, it can only be amazing. And please mail me if u know anything
