A Million Little Things: Fresh Start (2022)
From excellent to less than average...
This show started so good. I absolutely loved the first and even second season. Great story about a group of friends and what they go through plus the added "mystery" of why Jon killed himself.
Now it's all about dealing with every political correct item. You have it all. Racism (total obsession with that subject by now, I find myself fast forwarding most of Rome's story, it's just unwatchable), a gay character, one that turns lesbian, one that's in a wheelchair, Asian, black, white. Like most American shows nowadays seems every group of friends or team needs to include one of everything. Totally unrealistic.
Add to that the fully and completely unrealistic good relationship between ex couples (on top of the already unrealistically good relationship between wife and lover we've had from the beginning) and overly mature kids (Theo specially), it just becomes too much.
It's a pity, because it was a real good show. I just keep watching because I like Gary & Maggie, and got attached to Eddie and Regina. Couldn't care less about all the other stories.
Suits: Inevitable (2018)
liking Donna less and less
I really loved Donna all these past seasons. The relationship between Donna and Harvey was special, no affair but always something between them. Great chemistry, truly cared for each other, 100% loyal, and there was definitely this something special going on. It was a great love story in the making. And I was all for them becoming a couple at the end. But with the storyline this season, that is all over.
To start with, they are overdoing it with her career development. Donna was the perfect secretary, understood Harvey blindly, was great getting things done, just awesome. And he really appreciated that. Needed her. Had a hard time coping when she left him for Louis. He loved her ( and said so in an emotional past episode)
Then this "The Donna" stuff started, which was totally ridiculous, and then she becomes COO, which is even more ridiculous, and on top of it she seems to have nothing to do but walk around the corridors, drop into people's offices asking " what's going on?", getting involved in every conversation and giving her opinion to everything. It's tiring and getting on my nerves.
Paula was great. I really like her ( until the point she made Harvey choose between her and Donna) and she was good for Harvey. He was happy, at peace. They were great together.
And all that ruined because Donna decides to kiss Harvey "to find out if she feels "more" for him"?? What a selfish act of Donna. So many years putting Harvey first and now ruining it all because she suddenly decides to kiss him to find out how she feels?? Which turns out to be nothing. And who needs to kiss somebody to find out her true feelings?? That's BS writing.
The Harvey/Donna relationship was great. It's ruined for me now.
The Crown: Gunpowder (2022)
It just drags on
I really enjoyed season 1-4 of The Crown but I'm finding it hard to stay tuned with season 5. I find myself fast forwarding quite a bit and I'm really getting very tired of all this Diana drama. Sure, it was a big thing for the monarchy back then, I understand, and it's an important part of the British monarchy's history. But seeing Elizabeth Debicki's sorry eyes and tilted head 60 minutes non stop is tiresome to say the least. The last two episodes were just about her.
Also, if Diana really behaved in such a naive, stupid way as she's portrayed, then I totally fail to understand all the hype around her.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Annoying lead actresses
The story seemed interesting and I still believe it is. But both lead actresses got on my nerves. Anna Chlumsky pulls (weird) funny faces all the time, I don't know if she was required to do that or if she's just a bad actress. And Julia Garner's accent his unbearable. I really liked her in Ozarks - and she was the reason I started watching Inventing Anna - but here she's just annoying. I gave up after episode 3. Just couldn't take it any longer.
House of Cards (2013)
Why was this show so famous?
I truly fail to understand why this show was so well-known. I'm late watching it only in 2021 and having heard so much about it I had great expectations and was sure I would enjoy it. Well, I didn't. I dragged myself through its 6 seasons, wanting to know how it goes on and hoping it would get better, but so happy when I was finally done and could move on to something else.
It's slow. Lot's of never ending talking, getting worse and worse as the series progresses. The amount of dead people rises to the ridicule - initially it was shocking, to have a murder happen and see how they got away with it, but it went on and on and by the final season it was truly ridiculous, such an amount of dead/killed people and nobody being suspicious about it. Also, the story line got repetitive and boring, with important characters disappearing without explanation and sudden new intimate old friends showing up that had never been mentioned before...
I could go on and one, I truly do not understand how this show got such good ratings and was so popular.
