One Day (2024)
"We grew up together"
Starting very strong, this series keeps me hook up until the end. Watching the jumpy plot is never a bother, they keep up us the important detail with easy conversations. The scripts were excused well, adding the chemistry all the actors.
The techniques was not the best but not bad either, enjoying the imperfections. However the music selection should be appraised!!
In the end, the casting was splendid, i cannot have a single thing to talk bad about everything about them. The direction was also on point making the whole scene even feel near.
Well adaptation made! Go grab your tissues, because the rollercoaster is about to get started.
The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
Love flanagan works. Entertaining
Jumpscare expertly orchestrated, not excessive, but packing a punch. Tension meticulously weaved, no idle chatter. The sharp, spine-tingling sound syncs seamlessly, gripping fans in breathless anticipation. Unsettling tales, left hanging, enticing curiosity, culminating in a riveting resolution. The actors, oh so familiar with Flanagan's discerning choices, masterfully deliver, leaving us in awe. Amidst a haunting backdrop, the setting becomes a character in itself, shrouded in eerie ambiance, adding depth to the narrative. The camera work, a visual maestro, dances with shadows and light, enhancing the fear's visual allure.
Kwinmeikeo (2023)
Good Start, Decent Climax, Bad Ending
The drama started off on a good note with an interesting plot and well-developed characters. The pacing was just right, and the audience was quickly hooked. As the story progressed, the tension built up, and the climax was decently executed.
However, the ending of the drama fell short and left many me disappointed. The resolution felt rushed and unsatisfying, with loose ends left untied. Overall, the drama had a good start and a decent climax, but the bad ending overshadowed the earlier positive aspects.
You can stop watch till eps 6, if you have time in your hands continue until the end but know your risk.
Heartstopper (2022)
Please don't ruin it Netflix.
Season 1 was a delight! Having zero expectation, this series delivered way better that I expected in one sitting.
The most noticeable one is the color and soundtrack, they just highlight all the plain scripts. Overall kudos. I love it. The transition was great, the script was easy to digest.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Too jumpy and so much rush
This movie can be 90 minutes without any unnecessary sub plot. The extra was good but the background was too jumpy, i even cannot enjoy it.
The horror sense was the only good in this movie and oh good the action is just meh.
WeCrashed (2022)
Magical thrilling experience.
This series transformed raw history into magic carpet ride. The dialogues are the perfect amount which can depict the whole unfortunate. The dynamic of Hathaway and Leto make me believe in love stories once again. Good Job apple tv! After severance, this will save Apple TV.
The Batman (2022)
170 minutes of redemption
This era is definitely darker, better, and more delight from the script, transition, and story-wise there is no much to complain. However, the music is a little bit overdo making me shifting my focus to background music than the actual dialogue. Cheers to Pattinson for agreeing in this trilogy.
Severance (2022)
Powerful banters.
I know the trailer shouted "hi i got potential" so I give it two episodes a try, well I cannot say I don't like it. With powerful dialogue and necessary blunt experiences, the combination is just captivating from start to the end. I am looking forward until the end of session, but I do one believe they have great character developments delivered with killer banters.
I Want You Back (2022)
Few good laughs
It's typical rom-com with some punchline jokes. However this time it got some upgrade on the setting and the flow, i like the banter without unnecessary back stories plus the character developments is not too much just right amount.
Booksmart (2019)
When Highschool Movie is Done Right.
This feature video was like my personal 3 years journey of my high school time. From the fun until heartbreak, all perfectly capture with this fantastic duo along with supporting back stories, every conversation was just natural. The flow is undoubtedly one of the effortless movement in a movie, slow steady with unknowingly what's the future hold, just like high school.
The Reader (2008)
Watchlisted in 2009, watched in 2022
When i was middle school I really want to see this movie but it's not appropriate that time. Oh boy, the wait is definitely worth it. Absolute stunning performance and perfectly well-written script make me sit tight 2 hours straight. With the amazing views and suited casts, the reader just gave me a splendid journey of time.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Slow but deliver
This movie started with a long unnecessary introduction however the action served the lack of plot.
It's weird to see them full make up, losing their charisma. Anyway keanu still look gorgeous as he was in 1999.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Decent addition to the series
Having a standard expectation before coming to cinema, turned out this sequel was decent enough to satisfy all the cravings and longings for the original members.
Standard plot with necessary backstory making smooth transition each parts.
A pretty decent job from Reitmen!
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Definitely easy 10
This series is equally good with the movie however this series show more complex line and comedy punch who will make you laugh till you fall from your chair, with extra performance and unexpected cameos this series is definitely easy yes from season 1 until 3 without declining any qualities.
Trying (2020)
The next ted lasso
It's fun and warm with realistic view of how we struggle to fit in. With effortless trying, this light watch will brighten your day and ease your nightmare that you are not alone afterall.
What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Smoothless guilty pleasure
Without unnecessary plot and the simplicity I really enjoy the unexpected stories lead to. The character well built with exceptional settings.
This mockmentary definitely being my perfect guilty enjoyment.
Trying (2020)
The next ted lasso
It's fun and warm with realistic view of how we struggle to fit in. With effortless trying, this light watch will brighten your day and ease your nightmare that you are not alone afterall.
Eternals (2021)
Don't mess with DC fans.
I gave 5 is me trying to say thank you that this movie not have 2 parts.
Well chloe definitely trying to please fans with so many things but in the end it just didn't meet the bare minimum. The joke, the character build-ups, actions, even the transition was very rough. Chloe no doubt is great making Oscar worthy dramas but she is not the right person to direct even to make the script this adaption.
There's not enough apparent experience between characters to make an exploration of these "eternals" complicated feelings possible, making it's dis appealing
Somewhere directors of Thor trilogy is breathing a sigh of relief; he's no longer responsible for the worst Marvel film.
Lastly please don't use any outside MCU's references. It's just not the right place.
Ritual (2021)
There is no doubt this is one good break from Horror Indonesia
Starting off with a very great premise following with more diverse genre this mini series will make you understand the taboo in Indonesia society. They also give love, friend, good, and even comedy in every touch of the series making this series one of the candidate becoming break-trough in On Demand Service.
Worth your time.
The Night House (2020)
A decent love/horror stories
I had high expectation with this movie before it was even release, and boy oh boy this served right in. It blended just right in with few background stories and love-flicks, this movie also served some of a few good scream along the way with the flick of angle of camera, I like the director told the story though the second part a bit off beat. Overall a decent love or horror stories.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
What a movie!
I learned and loved from the story. This is my first time loving an actor based on their stories and how they developed scene by scene it makes me one to reminiscence again and again. Full with a lot of good tears and comedy, this movie deserved to be #1 movie in its era.
No Time to Die (2021)
It has decent action but that's it
Bond was used to be full of plot twist and good storyline without any cheesy along the way but this movie has so many plot that can be filled with content good screenwriting. Just don't expect much.
The Guilty (2021)
I like the start until the midway through
I like this movie started, then the phase keeps picking up then I am getting bored. With anticlimax ending and Jake's 130 minutes cameraworks. I can give this movie solid 6.
Hacks (2021)
Hilariously good material
Hacks was raw, some-kind-of original well written biography that perfectly depicted some group of people who dire to raise a voice against the general. The chemistry is there ofc and the ping-pong is well written. Can't wait for season 2.
Midnight Mass (2021)
Finest work of flanahan
Midnight mass review in 200 words less. The union of all tremendous works of flanahan. Romance, horror, poetic, drama, satire everything inside of this series. Thriving actors and well directed series.
TRAILER DO NOT DO THE JUSTICE!
