Party of Five (2020)
Wonderful and timely reboot
4 January 2020
I generally hate to see TV reboots for shows I loved, like the original party of five;however, the re-envisioning provided by this new version allows it to pack all the emotion, drama, and portrayal of family of the original series. While it is always hard to tell how a show will go, after watching the pilot, I think this show has incredible potential.

Eat Pray Love (2010)
Should make version for men- Drink, Prey, Cheer
15 August 2010
I think this was the first Julia Roberts film that I ever hated. I wanted to leave the theater before she left Rome, but was with my wife. After the film I found out she hated it as much as me. We did chat a little and thought it would make wonderful parody film--- picture Will Ferrell as a husband who is fed up and decides to travel to three cities... and visit The New York Yankees; The Dallas Cowboys; and the Los Angeles Lakers, as a way to get in touch with his inner man. Along the way there could be lots of drinking, cheering and preying on women in bars and cheerleaders. My favorite seen in the film was the end photo where it showed her former husband looking happy in his new family!

Lucky Louie (2006–2007)
Lucky Louie Lacks Orginality
22 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I saw a taping of Lukcy Louie at Hollywood Center Studios recently. The show was not very funny.

Since I knew the show was picked up by HBO I thought perhaps I would have the chance to see the next Sex and the City or Six Feet Under. But nooooo, the plot line (about Louie becoming a clown for his child's birthday party) reminded me more of the writing one finds in shows like Saved by the Bell. Yes, they did use four letter words (it is after all for HBO) but unlike other HBO shows I have come to love, the language seemed misplaced. Prior to the episode I saw get filmed they showed the pilot. It was a little better, but honestly, I was surprised HBO green lighted this show....It may be time to sell that Time Warner Stock after all...) After the taping, I talked to a number of others who were there (Mostly college students) and they agreed the show needed some serious help.

A very funny and meaningful film
15 October 2004
I saw "King of the Corner" at a pre-release screening at Bridgewater College in Virginia two days ago. I really thought it was wonderful. The story line both moving and extremely funny. There are several scenes from the film that I keep replaying in my mind and have talked to others about since viewing the film. (A sign of a great film.)

I thought the cast, writing and direction were excellent. While most of the audience where I saw the film was composed of college aged students, I am quite a bit older (in my early 40's). The film had wonderful cross-generational humor that suggested to me that viewers of all ages (18+) would find it enjoyable. It also was quite moving at times, especially for anyone who has had to deal with issues of ill family members.

I give the film my highest rating!!!

Don't miss it!
