Some things to like, but had to fast forward over a lot of it...
17 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the key characters and the general concept of spy being reactivated, but I usually find that gimmick of using 1/2 the air time for flashbacks tiresome and distracting, and tend to fast forward over them. The whole shapeshifting thing also really moved this into a cartoonish category, which is another minus for me, although they manage to integrate it into the overall story fairly well, so it was less distracting that I would have expected.

Would have benefited with Tracey Ullman as the Queen

This was a dismal movie, and a drag to watch. I suppose they were trying to get viewers to feel as bad as Diana supposedly felt, and to that extent, it worked. Other that that, we didn't feel like we learned anything about her or her situation, and we kept thinking "is this over, yet"? I would not recommend this to anyone, except perhaps total Diana nuts, who are desperate for any and all things Diana, or someone suicidal, looking for that little nudge to get them to take the final step.

Why all the dim lighting!?
17 January 2022
I really like.d Stana Katic in Castle, and was looking forward to this. I went through entire first season and a half in about 1 hour, trying to find something to get my attention, but couldn't .. It was clear this w as going to be one of these tiresome plot lines that drags on forever without resolution, and worse, everything is filmed in really low lighting, I suppose to create mood, in lieu of an interesting story line or interesting characters.... A disappointment...

Better than most in genre
5 September 2021
Detective Kenda solves homicides while littering cigarette butts across Colorado Springs. Provides more insights, compassion and understanding over time than one typically gets in these types of shows.

What a great movie!

We really loved this movie - one of the best we've seen for a while. A great story, very well told, with wonderful characters, and excellent casting and acting. Much better than we expected going into it.

Laugh track
11 April 2019
I can't watch TV with laugh tracks. I keep trying to figure out what all these idiots are laughing at?!

The only thing more annoying than stupid American TV with laugh tracks is BBC with laugh tracks... You'd think the Brits had more class...?

Love this movie
2 March 2019
This is a Chinese romantic comedy. Hithertofor, I always thought "Chinese comedy" to be an oxymoron - I've seen a few - or tried to watch them, but they were never even close to funny. This is warm, funny, colorful, creative and a lot of fun. I'm writing this review someone will give it a try and enjoy it even 1/2 as much as I did.

This movie is both an homage to, and a satire of the great "food movies". It is in the style of the screwball comedy genre. Its not perfect, but it is really a lot of fun, and way above average. They lead actress is fabulous - on par with any great comedic actress I can think of. She just sizzles in every scene. I would love to see her in more movies. All of the cast was good, but she was really extraordinary. The movie has humor and heart.

A mess, but fun, and some really terrific characters.
12 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Chuck and Sarah are among my all time favorite TV couples, well written and really superbly acted, I think. The show is a bit of a mess, and some threads, including most scenes at the Buy More store are annoying to the point that I would often fast forward through them; The spy storylines are far fetched and often idiotic, but the relationships between some of the key characters are really terrific, and some of the best scenes really stick with me. Many TV shows keep going by keeping the lead couple from ever getting together.. This show does that for awhile, but eventually allows it to evolve, strengthening the relationship and making it less formulaic and more interesting. This is one of those shows that I really hated to be over - really missing the characters.

Good fun, entertaining
28 August 2017
We enjoyed this. Lots of fun, nicely done story. Solid script. Actors/characters were pretty good. The direction lacked, a bit. Same guy wrote, directed, produced and starred in it, apparently. Might have been better to bring in another director? It just didn't "pop" as much as I think it could have with the script he wrote.

Not bad, but its just sort of flat
26 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This looked promising in the trailer, but the movie was just a bit flat. We were really hoping to like it more than we did...

The story follows a typical romantic comedy trajectory, with oddball roommates, etc; the characters were likable, and the chemistry between the main characters is believable, but flat - no bubbles...

The dialog, although often fairly witty and interesting, didn't resonate most of the time, and the whole thing never took off. I couldn't really put my finger on it. The actors weren't bad, the story wasn't bad, the dialog wasn't bad, but it just didn't work. Blame the director and editing, maybe? Maybe different actors could have given it more sizzle, I don't know.

The finale also didn't make any sense to us - a change of heart that, if explained, went completely over our heads.
