The Devil and Max Devlin (1981)
Good Family Movie
I can remember seeing this movie when I was a young man. It was good and wholesome. Even my parents enjoyed watching it when it came on the tube. Ms. Budd's performance is one of the highlights of this movie, along with a wonderful performance by a young Adam Rich. There is a lot of talent in this movie, which brings for fun watching over and over. Those who are looking for the: sex, murder, more sex, blood/gore, or foul language feature will probably NOT like this movie. Then again, we are not all alike, and thank God for that, but I think that many will enjoy this movie and refer it's viewing to others. When I would have school friends come to the house for a sleep over, it was always a 'must' to watch (if the friend(s) had not already seen the movie) and seemed clean and fresh with each viewing. I can't remember any of them having NOT liked it. Just to make sure it wasn't just because I was 'a kid' then, I watched it recently........ still very enjoyable.

The Stepford Life (2001)
Review of "The Stepford Life"
A wonderful 'mini-commentary' on "The Stepford Wives {T.S.W.} (1975)." I really enjoyed watching this program as the stars, director, and producer look back upon fond (and in one case 'not so fond') memories on the making of "T.S.W." It was such a breath of fresh air watching as these professionals looked back on the fun times they had making this movie. It also had many cute moments such as, when Ms. Newman (Carol Van Sant) repeated those famous 9 words "I'll just die if I don't get this recipe." Believe it or not, it still comes across with a 'haunting' touch of nostalgia just as it did when the movie was first released. It is a shame that the movie was not a bigger success in 1975, God knows it should have been. Had more people viewed this movie, it would be an even bigger 70's classic more along the lines of "The Towering Inferno" in regards to numbers. This is a WONDERFUL piece of art and even though ever so slightly dated, still makes for GREAT entertainment. The only reason, I don't give this feature a '10' is simply because it would have been even more wonderful had it been just a little bit longer, and explored more technical insight on the material, ideas, changes and reasons for the changes that were made. Lastly, the actresses have really aged well, and look absolutely divine. Or should I say 'just like a stepford wife.' {laughs}
