Bullet Train (2022)
BORE AND GORE
Ask yourself, if you like games packed with action? If not, then save yourself some time and don't bother to watch.
Two stars goes to good actors but thta's it. Unfortunately even otherwise good actors didn't deliver, not even close to their best roles.
As there is a 600 charatcter minimum for the submitting of the review, then I will write some more. All the cliches are there: Slo-mo and then fast zoom, western-style confrontations, scenes in desert, and endless ketshup, you know what I mean. Like one music video after another.
It is probably watcable as a parody or watch-one-movie-have-seen-tem-all for action genre. I din't last as long unfortunately.
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Real hidden pearl
Funny, witty and oh so human. I discovered that I was laughing out loud several times through the movie. Well done!
The Little Hours (2017)
Genre failure
Satiric, yes, and some erotic elements, too. Romance?? Hell, no! And so-so boring...
Håbet (2018)
Costume drama with contemporary themes
It is a costume drama, even with the romantic story line, but I was sorry to see it is screened in NRK only with the Norwegian subtitles. Definitely worth of publishing it internationally! Hopefully there will be season 2 also.
Ashes in the Snow (2018)
Baltic Schindler's List
Without giving out the spoilers, it's not possible to say much. But look, I was sitting in the packed cinema hall and I had to sniff again when one of the bad guys started to smoke as I could smell the tobacco burning. And then, when there was a snowstorm, it felt like they turned the heating off. That's a first for me.
Yes, it is close to home - I'm Estonian, so the scenario was the same in my country as it was in Lithuania. And in Latvia. And in Ukraine, and so on. Just replace the nazis SS with the communists NKVD and you get it why I referred to the Schindler's List.
Brilliant acting, brilliant cinematography, everything worked really well together. Thanks!
Please indulge yourselves and get some real cinema experience.
