Ready Player One (2018)
Sorry nerds, this is for the rest of us.
Its hard for me to believe all of the one and two star reviews for this film on here from people who are obsessed with the book. In fact, I even heard similar comments from people in the theater after the movie ended. One girl was actually complaining that she disliked it for the same reason she can't watch Game of Thrones, because it's not faithful to the source material.
Well I'm sorry that your trip out of your parent's basement wasn't as satisfying as you hoped, but for the rest of us who haven't read the book and are not obsessive video game or pop culture fans it was a great movie. There's enough references for everyone to enjoy the story, but not enough to confuse the majority of the audience.
The visual effects are stunning and while the story may be wrapped up a little too neatly, its still a stunning tour de force from the best director in the business.
This was a great film with an excellent warning about the overuse video games and virtual reality. Definitely one to see and if you want more, than go read the book.
Arizona Highways (2004)
A great look at Arizona
An excellent series that focuses on destinations and activities throughout the State of Arizona. A tremendous addition to the longstanding and well known magazine. Host Robin Sewell and the producers of this show do a great job of showing that Arizona has more to offer than just the Grand Canyon and golf courses in Phoenix and Tucson.
From the Mogollon Rim to the streets of Bisbee, Arizona Highways brings the beauty and diversity of Arizona to the airwaves. Even those of us raised in the state can learn about new and interesting aspects of the state through this show.
Must Love Dogs (2005)
Waste of time
I had high hopes for this movie. With a cast of John Cusack, Diane Lane, Dermot Mulroney, Elizabeth Perkins, Stockard Channing and Christopher Plummer and writing by Gary David Goldberg, I thought this would be very good. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Despite the presence of a few funny lines and cute scenes, this contains every clichéd character and situation found in every romantic comedy of the past 15-20 years that I have seen. As for the blurb on the box that says "The best romantic comedy since When Harry met Sally", yeah right! This doesn't hold a candle to that movie or to many others. Don't waste your money or your time.
