The Village (2004)
9/10
One of the best stories I have ever seen
20 January 2005
Simply a masterpiece! This film adds an element of a spooky background and a mind blowing ending. While not your typical scary movie this story slowly builds into a carnival of suspense. Very underrated by the movie critics, this film gave me appreciation for something that is usually looked over in scary movies....THE STORY. This film had it all, great acting, great story, and a unbelievable ending. I walked away from this movie spellbound by the simple formula that M.Night used to create a world of shadows, hope, and courage. The story not only brought out the childhood fear of the bogyman but also the courage it takes to look under the bed to face your fears. Do yourself a favor and rent this movie.

I'll Be There (2003)
A great little film..

Why does every film have to have multiple meanings in order to be considered good?? This was a real surprise for me. Uncomplicated and fun, this Charlotte Church vehicle gave me 90 minutes of popcorn eating enjoyment. I felt Charlotte was perfect in this role and she acted with vetern-like ease.

The problem with critics these days is that they over-analyize every film to see if they meet some deep meanings. This was a film intended to be a feel good comedy and thats exactly what it does. The cast was great, and as an American I found some of the humor pretty funny. Lets not forget that the viewers get a chance to hear Charlotte's amazing voice, which is one of the most beautiful on earth.
