There is just no point in asking.

A very deep, insightful look about violence and their consequences... and causes...

The movie really takes you into the absurd of the reality, a real inner sight about the pointless actions that are taken everyday and about the real, heavy consequences.

Two wonderfully acted characters by two bright young actors.

The story folds slowly, little by little, to a point where all the answers are held in a little Wall mart bag. I really beleived that the movie didn't want us to look at the "violence in media" as the real devil behind all this. Instead, they tell us that horrible things happen and that they don't necessarily have a plausible cause.

Makes you fall in love with her paintings.
29 September 2004
Frida is a true story about a true person... And this gives the movie a hole different aspect.

You really fall in love with her personality, with her strengh and character, with her feelings and her beleives. And this is coming from a person who do absolutely do not believe in anything she does.

But that's, little by little, as you go along in the movie, is put aside and you enjoy being and living her life because she is so strong and determined to go thru.

The movie really puts her on a pedestal. I don't know if she was so good and perfect, but her paintings are really well represented. They has this "Dalli" Feeling about them. This feeling that painters have... The irony of life, but accepting it. The cruelty of feelings, put up blunt.

The movie really tells it better than I will ever do.

Another Not so Great French Movie !
12 September 2004
OK... This is a messed up story about love... with a mix of crazyness and bad directing.

The movie fails to fit the category it targeted... The humour is blessed by a hazy bitter taste and the characters are developed as widely as bugs bunny likes apples...

The poetic feeling of the movie is exaggerated and takes away any common sense the movie could have had. We wonder between trying to understand what is happening and classifying the feelings and scenes we have as "metaphoric" or "senseless".

So... What a really waste. Movie hits a "5" because it is well thought nonetheless and it stays beautiful from a landscape and nature point of view. If you like poetic movies where what happens isn't really important, then that's the movie to watch.

Peter Pan (2003)

A nice feature, for adults...
12 September 2004
Peter Pan, the everlasting story about the young boy who doesn't want to grow up.

This presentation of the peter pan "legend" is yet somehow different from all the others. the movie speaks for a somewhat older audience than what you could expect. The characters are more mature and the movie shows you that growing up starts with feelings and particularly love.

I didn't like it how the movie was really leaning toward the psychological part of peter pan, and breaking the fun with repeated profound questions about one's feelings and thoughts. The movie lost it's appeal for children I think, and innocence as well, with all those kisses.

Never the less, the children discovered what's like to be a parent/grown up and prepared to begin this risky, dangerous, tiresome but beautiful part of their lives. Part that peter pan was never willing to take. These are very well represented, but they might not be well understood by 13 year olds.

Peter Pan is a lovely movie suitable for adults and children... Good times and nights ahead.

The green keeps it going !

I found this movie to be better than the first try. The characters are known and this frees up some space for more comedy, humour, cliché shots and other nice and funny gimmicks found only in a pixar feature.

The several references to all those stories and characters requires a vast knowledge of kid stories and legends. I like the ironical point of views shrek brings.

The movie is a little less pretty than the first shrek and the graphics got somewhat sloppy on some aspects... On other aspects however, skin, textures, the cat, it just got incredibly good.

Funny and entertaining. Well worth a buy!

The Original, not always the best !
12 September 2004
I waited for the shrek 2 so as to give an opinion on this one. I liked the two better.

Shrek has become a worldwide standard in animation technology.

The characters are beautifully animated and the textures, while not as good as the 2, are nonetheless beautifully done !

The plot is well "directed" as well, you never get bored and get transported by the story, watching as you go, enjoying the show.

One little note: I found the french version of the movie well above the English one. I don't know how it was possible, but the french voices where more adapted to the characters and the feelings where much more sincere. Eddy and cameron should watch closely and learn.

Very good ! a nice thriller.

Warning: Spoilers
*Possible Spoiler*

The film is a bit hazzy at first... You take time to get bathed in the action. The overall impression I had is very good. But you'll have to get thru those first 20 minutes before it gets exciting.

There are some very nice "surprise" events that you really didn't expect and that picks up the thrill very nicely and keep you entertained.

This movie is very light meaning you don't have to work hard to understand what's happening.

The military overworked the talking, maybe it's the way it is, maybe they wanted it to look professional... But it's overworked nonetheless for the usual average reader.

The characters are rich !

This true life story is well directed and the story unfolds pretty nicely to a final act that really nails it down.

The character is nicely presented, the killer shifts from a completely explainable point of view (in her first murder) to a completely uneven, mean, killing where she was capable to go against all of her instincts and kill the old man.

As she goes thru with these killings, she heals herself from all the hurt and anger she got bottled up inside and her personal story unfolds to the people she kill.

we also learn, in the end, that if there is anything true about her, it was her love for her girlfriend. We also learn that she is not so demented and that she is in fact, a pretty intelligent person.

This is the story of a hurt and scorned young woman who lived all her life in a dream, and a sickness that took her by storm. She finally woke up from all that and healed up with the help of pure love. It was too late, nobody can, like she said, forgive after what she has done. But she figured it out, she was finally stable and reasonable and that's the way she died...

I'm speechless... really ...

The best thing about this movie was the ending credits... I mean, those lines, scrolling down your screen was a huge relif for me. I loved the black background and this breathtaking panorama.

This movie achieved the impossible, putting my 2 year old daughter to sleep. This was incredible ! That's why I don't agree with everyone and I personally think that this movie was incredible.

I wonder why this movie was PG ! I mean hello ! Do we really want to teach our children that girlz should be that easy and if they aren't then it's bad ? Do we really need to send out such a compilation of rotten morals and conducts ? I see him, I like him, then let's sleep together ? Isn't it complicated enough these days without those "slut" guidelines ?

Fantastic Clint, Great movie !

Warning: Spoilers

OK, now I was skeptical at first as I don't fancy Clint Eastwood very much. Bridges of Madison county left me with a "get up and watch something else to forget" kinda feeling.

This movie is great, it shows exactly how unpredictable and messy the human mind might be. The complex interactions between people and their fears and the side effects of sexual child abuse that lay on the victim, but also on all the people who knew the victim.

To me, this movie is mainly about trust and the relationship between couples. At the end, we see the two couples, happy, with their children, happy... Those two couples are an opposite to the sad wife and sad child that resulted of a unhealthy relationship between the wife and her husband. She suspected him, she feared him, and she got him killed because of that mistrust. The other couple was happy even though the husband killed the suspect.

Is this really a movie ?!

Humm... Let's see.... Horrible comes first... Horrible at second and Horrible at third.

I only watched it because I was tired of returning it back... came all the way from the video store for nothing.

Trust me on this, I've seen bad movies... But not to this extent. The plot is useless, the storyline is irrelevant, there is no point in looking, hearing, following anything in the movie.

It's all a bunch of people, jiggling about a lot of things... The sarcasm in this movie is being maintained thourghout the movie... No rest, it's all dumb, all the way.
