Queer as Folk (2022)
Queer enough yet...
I see the potential here, I really do. Casting is okay, writing could be a bit better. Please improve the soundtrack, the music played is not familiar to the viewer and is hence lost. Consider a season 2 because Jesse James Keitel is hot!! We want to see more of her, and the others of course. One can see that there is a strict budget in place for film location and scenery.
Some of the acting is over the top and exaggerated. I want an escape when I watch an LGBTQ series, and that's what the original Queer as Folk had; that's what the L Word had too.
It can be done. I actually thought that the flashback scene to teenage Ruthie and Brodie was adorable. Give season 2 a chance Peacock!
Poker Face (2023)
Natasha Lyonne!
Love, love love this show! Wish it could go beyond the 2 seasons. Really enjoying the Columbo-like sleuthing role that Natasha has adoringly taken on. Her acting is impeccable with a casual flair. Each episode has a unique cast of characters to keep the show interesting and Charlie delivers a satisfying end to each crime with which she becomes entangled. She can't help herself, she can detect a lie and literally can call bull* on each perpetrator. With her classic Barracuda, she travels under the radar, hopefully evading her former casino boss, while working odd jobs. This is a refreshing, unique take on a amateur detective show.
Underwater (2020)
Awful, just awful
Who needs a plot when you have water everywhere? Explosions, chit chat, more explosions, oh look some creature, more water, a long trek, some crew members die. More chit chat, then self-sacrifice with more explosions. There I save the trouble of watching this nonsense.
The L Word: Generation Q (2019)
Deflated
I'm feel deflated, disappointed and disillusioned. The cast is flat, emotionless. Drop in celebrity guest spots are used to prop up an otherwise weak story line. You cannot remake a show like the original L Word. Leisha Haley, Jennifer Beals, and Katherine Moennig seem to be the only reasons to stick around.
Jett (2019)
Keep it coming...
Carla Gugino plays a sexy yet tough contract thief who knows how to get the job done and kicks ass in the process. Smart storyline and quick pace to keep a viewer interested. Great equation. Love it!
