Our Boys (2019)
Misleading perspective
The story of the three boys' 2014 kidnapping and murder is told from a very left wing perspective and portrays Israel as a police state filled to the brim with wild, rabid Jewish mobs bent on carrying out a pogrom against the Arabs. Not an accurate reflection of the circumstances of the event or Israeli society.
Love Actually (2003)
most insulting movie of all time
This is the dumbest movie of all time. Every circumstance, plot scenario, dialogue and outcome is totally implausible. Not to mention that its completely insulting toward American culture, while simultaneously fulfills some warped fantasy that Britain collectively has about being a proud, sovereign, independent thinking culture, which it isn't. Britain mirrors American politics and culture nearly 100%. Finally, what is it with all of the shocking examples of nudity and sexuality that go above and beyond HBO. While the producers/writers try to make a movie that projects a proud independent England, they simultaneously try desperately to project their emulation of American culture. Its just dumb dumb dumb all around. Unbelievable.
The Rules of Attraction (2002)
Is everyone missing the simple point of this movie?
This movie boils down to what it is simply about: The rules of romantic attraction, whether the setting is college or otherwise. This film's characters are immersed in a tangle of relationships, however, the one common thread that binds them all is to want what they can't have, and to have (or have available to them) that which they don't want. Has this ever happened to you? I think it is common in the everyday mundanity of our lives, and that is why it is "The Rule", rather than an exception. Well, this simple rule - vicious and poignant - guides the relationships that unfold in this film. See it if you've ever been in this quandary, or seek a realistic, although admittedly cynical, take on the frustrations of romance and attraction.
Garden State (2004)
moving...
This is truly a great contemporary indie insta-classic. You will appreciate this movie to the core of your soul
if you possess the humility and self-consciousness to have ever felt lost, alone or that certain inexplicable feeling that "you still haven't found what you're looking for...." The soundtrack is amazing as well. The highest recommendation possible for both the soundtrack and movie....
