Vaastu Shastra (2004)
A good modern Bolly Horror
This movie would be the second horror/mystery movie of Modern Bollywood.
Raaz was the first try, and it was "Romantic-Comic-Horror" never before seen in history of film.
I would rate this movie 9/10. Good acting by all, speacialy the KID who just steals the whole movie.
RGV's style of movie making is great too. He has a good and an artistic vision, but he needs to work little more when it comes to Horror.
Overall it includes some good chills, but little weak plot and unclear background.
Watch "Bhoot", then this and wait for "Kuch to Hai." Lets see where Bollywood goes with Horror
Fire Dancer (2002)
His first and last -indeed the best.
The movie "Fire dancer" was Jawid's first and last feature. He was murdered few months after compilation of the film. It indeed was a lost of the Afghan-American community.
The movie as described in plot summary revolves around the Afghan-Americans and their battles with the new culture.
The film has a lot of tragedy and some comedy (just like the directors life).
It's shot very professionally and edited in its best.
Acting is very good...even amusing, because its everyone's first time.
This is the first movie that was nominated for Oscars.
This is the third Afghan-American movie (after "The Fear" and "In the Wrong Hands") that is made in Hollywood standard.
Afghans have been releasing some great movies recently. The future of Film-making looks bright for the Afghan community.
8/10- Based on Hollywood Standards.
Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... (2004)
Typical bolly movie, but with better acting and music
The movie is good, not so different from any other Bolly movie, but this time the male (vivek) is a guy who believes in arr-mar. And the girl (Ash) in Pyar (love-marr).
Big B comes in the second half of the movie, and even then not much of him is seen.
2 special app. by SS and DM (don't want to reveal full names).
Great songs and music.
Overall its worth watching, little comedy little RONA-DONA (drama).
Great cast and acting by many...
Watch it at your own risk.... (i do recommend it)
