Eileen (2023)
Major miss
The film gets started, and you think I'm OK. Then not much and then more of not much. Then a bit of plot starts... quickly falls flat. I mean, watching the scroll over and over. He demeaned by her alcoholic dad is boring, we get it the dad's a jerk. She clearly has no self-esteem until she meets this other woman who looks like she has loads of it. Then it seems like there's going to be some sort of lesbian relationship between the two and then it stops and turns into something else. This is the point or some real plot start showing up in the movie. Some bad stuff is happening and it's pretty clear that the woman is using the naïve young woman and you know what's gonna happen from then on. And then it's instantly over. Not a spoiler, but the very end is this young girl sitting in the four wheeler driving what we're assuming it's to New York with nothing no money no purse no nothing with a big smile on her face, what kind of ending is that? It doesn't even make sense. She dumped a bunch of stuff in her pocket earlier, which looks like a newspaper maybe that's supposed to be money anyway, this movie just totally lost it.
The Good Mother (2023)
Shoulda,coulda,woulda
This had the potential to be a great movie, but it failed. Started out great. Show the addiction from one parent to the child, how that can happen. Then it just kind of lost it from there. Went into the stereotypical cop as a drug dealer thing. After that you could just tell what was going to happen in every part of the movie. As the main character being a newspaper writer, I thought they were going to use that as to somehow writing about her son's addiction, her addiction or what it feels like to lose a child. But it didn't go there, at least not till the end of the movie. Then nothing. The end.
Dark Nature (2022)
Thought it was gunna be bad ......
Oh, Angie, this movie turned out to be way better than I thought it would be. Besides the little creature, everything in it could possibly happen like really happened. Going out in the wilderness to help yourself to heal from trauma. That really happens having something attack you in the forest that really happens surviving it that really is this was a very Surprisingly good movie between the women talking and getting to know each other and their individual problems. They were trying to find a way to help Get over their individual traumas. Starting to feel like somethings get over their individual traumas. Some felt like something was out there, watching him, and nobody would believe them. Then look what happens. OK but I watch worth it.
Mayflies (2022)
Wow
Dealing with real life choices ... heartbreaking and deeply painful to watch. Be ready to cry. Acting was absolutely superb. Felt like you knew these people, from the flashbacks of their youth to them as adults. Having to make difficult choices when you don't have very many choices to make. In a simple two episode program, You learn about them in the lives, so much that you learn about them, and just a short episodes is extremely a lot. You come to see all sides of the story represented in each character. I wish it had been at least a four part series, because I feel like There should've been more to the story than just the sadness sadnesses, and the pain that they were going through.
MK Ultra (2022)
Flop
Started out promising. But quickly showed no actual plot. Sadly it could have been good ..... the end was so unbelievable. This was just a total loss on where it seemed like the movie was going. I thought you were going to see some crazy studies done, which psychedelic drugs and behavior said they caused. Then next thing you know people are out of the study you don't even know why. You don't get to see what happens to people in the study, weird scenes with the guy and his wife. It's literally all over the place and nowhere at the same time. By the time you get to the end he realized how much time you wasted watching this movie.
Father of the Bride (2022)
Worth watching
First off I gotta say I love that this movie used Latinx/ Mexican Actors. This was a really feel good type of movie, that shows sometimes you can always follow what your culture is. Sometimes you want something different and how hard it is and disappointing it is for the people who want to keep to the old ways. In the end it's a really feel good movie shows how much love there can be in families. I can honestly say when this movie comes out I'll buy it cause I could watch it over again enjoy.
Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)
Amazing
I totally think Emma Thompson should win an award for this movie. This movie touches on very very delicate subjects that we don't like to discuss. Especially about older people who want to still feel sexual and alive. They're able to take a very delicate subject and turn it into an enlightening one. Especially about people over 40 who don't ask for what they want because they don't think we should. She is one brave woman to take on this role!!
As They Made Us (2022)
Winner!
This is one of the best movies I have seen all year. Definitely gonna have Dustin Hoffman up for an Oscar on this one. The part I love the most about the movie is it shows how real life can be with parents. That it's not perfect that's tough. And then getting to the point when you have to care for your parents. Make sure you have your tissue box with you because this one will make you cry.
Broken Soldier (2022)
Ok -ish
It they had better actors, it would have been a better movie. One of those, "I know it happens movies". But they missed the Mark. Some things in the movie don't even make sense.
No Exit (2022)
Not bad...
I put this movie on for something to watch in the background. Before I know it I got sucked in. This movie turned out to be way better than I thought it was ever gonna be. I was pleasantly surprised. What I'd like to bed at the most is that if this scenario really happened, the way that it was written would be as if it really happened. Not some of those crazy up crap that just like this could never happen.
After Yang (2021)
Drab...
Got threw 3/4 th off the movie. It's slow and drab. Very boring. I was surprised, I normally like Colin Ferrell movies. It's a movie from a short story that should have just stayed short.
Juniper (2021)
Powerful
Super powerful family dynamic movie that will get you right in the feels I wasn't sure at first but then there was a little change in the plan, I don't want to give it up. But incredible slice of life movie. Totally worth seeing.
Come Away (2020)
Wonderful
Absolutely heartwarming movie. Gives a twist on the two stories of Peter Pan and Alison Wonderland. Though there is sadness in the movie there's a lot of happiness. Watching the characters to go through the changes that they go through. Don't miss this one it's excellent.
The Humans (2021)
Pass....
If you really want to see this movie wait till it comes out for free. This is got to be one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. It's described as a certain type of movie, and the majority of the movie has nothing to do with when it's described about. And in the end you get about 10 minutes of what they say the movies actually about. And then it just ends. Total waste of time watching this movie.
White Sky (2021)
Boring
Starts out good... then just rambles along. Looses its story line fast. I kept nodding off it was so bland and boring. Maybe no one really read the script properly?
Aftermath (2021)
Well...
Starts out good... then craps out badly from middle to end!!! I started it so I had to finish it. Loosely based on a true story. If they stick to the store it could have been great.
Needle in a Timestack (2021)
Original.
I was blown away with how good this movie was! Different from other movies that just copy another with different actors. Consistent from start to finish. I'm not a love story person. But this was great.
The Fanatic (2019)
Wow
Best movie John Travolta has ever done. Blown away by how good he did, and I'm not a travoltra fan.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
I don't get it
The movie is drab from start to finish. It tends to go from subject to subject the subject without much in between. Your left just fill in the blanks for yourself. I had a hard time watching it it's very slow paced. The cowboy character comes off really aggressive and mean at first but then befriends the young boy and teaches them how to do a rope and then next thing you know they're putting him in a coffin for a funeral so it's really confusing.
Doors (2021)
W T F DID I JUST WATCH.
The movie has like three different sections they talk about different things that are going on in the movie which doesn't completely make sense. And you think you're getting into a plat line you like OK that's all right it's going OK and then it just goes off like crazy so I would totally bypass this movie so not worth it.
Crime Scene Kitchen (2021)
So fun
Totally love this show! So different. You have to wait just like the bakers to see if they got it right!
The Wilds (2020)
Different, but good
Hi Kelly took the typical stick a bunch of teen girls together movie into something drastically different. I felt like I was always waiting for what was gonna happen next. I don't wanna give it away but it's well worth the watch. Some people have said they think the characters act a little extra but I think they act just like teenage girls do having raised teenage girls and their friends.
