I enjoyed this film, far better than any of its predecessors, explained the story in full, plenty of gore for modern times, this would have been banned as a video nasty in early 80s UK. We are just so sanitised these days we can't be shocked. The original Evil Dead would probably be shown on day time TV now.

Warning: Spoilers
Uncanny how much Tennant resembles Nilsen, could Nilsen have really been this blasé about what he did?
He's honest and open, not what we've come to expect from serial killers, it's as if he sees what he has done as normal life.
You can certainly feel the sense of the time with the homophobic undertones.
Watch it, you'll not regret it.

Only an excuse

This is just an all black version of a few 80s horror films poorly knitted together, Prom Night first sprung to mind, it uses music similar to Halloween, it actually fails to emulate any of them, the acting is fine but the plot line vaguely exists, there is no sense of dread nor drama, it just plods along and feels like the film makers simply wanted to make a point more than a good movie.

I see other reviews calling this a rip off of other film ideas, but is that not simply a genre? Is every vampire film a rip off of Nosferatu? Every werewolf film a rip off of The Wolf man? You get the idea. It's an OK film, seen far worse.
The one thing that got me is why every cast member had an English accent when it was clearly filmed in Ireland?

Needed a comedian on the panel.

Such awkward viewing, the family members were trying to bounce off the members of the public on the panels and it just kept falling flat.
Would have been better with only one member of the public and a guest comedian or interesting celebrity on each panel.

Harks back to the days of the Horror anthologies such as Tales from the Crypt and Tales from the dark side.
The stories twists are rather predictable, in keeping with the anthologies of old, pretty shallow, lacking in substance and explanation.
There are one or two moments that make you wince slightly, but that's it, without them this would be the stuff TV Horror is made of.
Initially I thought it was a collection of short films strung together, until the cast started crossing over from one story to the next.
Watchable, but not worth dedicating your movie night to.
To be fair, if you are looking for a scare, I'd look elsewhere.
