Really fun to watch
5 April 2024
After finding out that The Patrick Star Show switched from script driven episodes to storyboard driven like in the original era of the show (which, let's be honest, should've been the intention at the very beginning of this spinoff) I knew I had to check in a few times to see if the show had improved.

Surprisingly enough, season two actually had way better episodes than before, and that aspect actually works in its favor this time. We get a lot of enjoyable moments in this specific episode pair, with many hilarious quick gags. I also loved the reference to the original SpongeBob Season 1 art style, it took me back.

As this show goes on, it starts growing a better sense of humor and starts embracing it's weirdness in the same way Chowder or Uncle Grandpa does. The best part of the episode "Chum Bucket List" also, is that SpongeBob and Patrick actually act like best friends way more than they have in post-movie era SpongeBob, where they constantly have SpongeBob getting abused or mistreated by Patrick. That was something that has always bothered me as a kid, but it is just very nice to see them acting how they were supposed to be in the original era.

For once, The Patrick Star Show justifies it's existence by making me appreciate Patrick as a character again. While he is still a bit flanderized, he feels way more likeable here in this show than he was some years ago. I hope the rest of this season continues this streak.

SpongeBob SquarePants: BassWard/Squidiot Box (2023)
Season 14, Episode 3
6/10
The second segment is disappointingly lacking
8 December 2023
Modern day SpongeBob has always done interesting things to try and make the show feel fresh. Whether it'd be sprucing up the animation quality or trying to work around with unexplored character dynamics.

BassWard is a nice episode. Although not as good as other better modern episodes, it was very interesting seeing Bubble Bass and Squidward interacting with each other and trying to tolerate one another.

As for Squidiot Box though... it is probably one of my least favorite episodes of the modern era, and it's particularly not a really good sequel episode either. It has a lot of creative ideas and is definitely equal in quality to the modern seasons, but the unfortunate side effect of this episode is that it misses the point of the original "Idiot Box" episode by having the cardboard box being the reason their imagination works to begin with. It also has a LOT of repetitive jokes and stale/cheap animation. It felt like an executive mandated episode with how it was paced together.

Hopefully the rest of this season has better sequel episodes, as this is supposed to be for the show's 25th anniversary. I was very disappointed by the second segment. In short, I give this pairing a low 6/10.

Captain Planet for Zoomers & Gen Alpha
30 September 2023
Incredible Ant is very incredible, indeed. While the animation and art style is not something to be worth screaming about (as it just looks like Amazing World of Gumball, which ironically enough, most crew members also worked on this show) the immersion of its world, writing, and overall educational value of the show make this worth talking about!

This show is similar to that of cartoons like Captain Planet, but with a serialized story, actual character arcs, and weirdly enough, additional lessons about financial decision making. It is very obvious that it's financial and environmental messaging comes from the show being commissioned by Chinese company Ant Financial, which focuses on both. It is also very fitting for this show that the world chosen for its environmental and anti-pollution messaging is one of living insects.

About every episode of the first season is free to watch on YouTube, and it is very quick to finish considering the typical episode length isn't very long. I hope the show continues!

Futurama: I Know What You Did Next Xmas (2023)
Season 11, Episode 6

Great episode. Futurama is back for real!
30 August 2023
Despite a few wimper episodes after the premiere, I have huge confidence that the Futurama revival will be back on a consistent streak of greatness after watching this one. Overall a really funny episode - a lot of fun lore and backstory sprinkled in with some really funny jokes and an interesting duo pair up.

If there's one thing I liked about the Comedy Central era, it's that they have a lot of interesting choices for duo-focused episodes. You have Bender and Hermes, Bender and Amy - and now it carries onto the Hulu era with Bender and Zoidberg!

Despite this episode being released way before Winter season actually begins, I actually got festive and nostalgic just watching it. We're back baby!

The show has reached it's peak
25 July 2023
I'll admit that even if this show isn't on par with even the typical modern SpongeBob episode, this pair of episodes are probably the funniest batch that this show has to offer.

The first segment "Bubble Bass Reviews" was the strongest of the two and was especially a lot of fun. There were a lot of funny jokes about overanalytical internet reviewers, and Bubble Bass was the perfect character to be used to spoof on those critics. He is exactly the type of guy to fit into this archetype. It may come off in poor taste to some people, but I thought it was very fitting for that character.

The second segment "Patrick's Prison Pals" was also pretty chaotic but amusing too. I don't have much to say other than that there were a handful of entertaining gags and it was a crazy way to cap off the first season.

It's not a very high bar that I got to laugh a few times in this show, but I was pleasantly surprised with how the season capped off. Hope the second season improves from here and is more consistent in quality.

Monkie Kid (2020– )

This is a really good show, ignore the review bombing
16 March 2023
There haven't been a lot of decent cartoons out there recently, so it is becoming really hard for people to find something that they actually like. However, this one feels different. It has a really nice and consistent animation style and the story feels really fresh enough to make it stand out with the competition.

The show was originally at a low 8/high 7 score but recently went down due to somebody making accounts or a mob of people rating the show down. Monkie Kid now has a 6.9 while the specials have 6-4 ratings when they were originally much higher since their release. Please ignore the review bombing, give this show a chance and give it a good review to help out. It is. Actually ridiculous this keeps happening on this website and nobody is doing anything.

Moral Orel (2005–2009)

Faithfully Brilliant
26 February 2022
After watching so many adult animated cartoons from the past few years-many that tackle serious issues and real life problems-I was surprised to hear that Moral Orel, which preceded all of them, managed to do what those shows did but even better and even grander than I thought.

I think one of the best things about this show is that despite it's dark themes and subject matter, it manages to portray an optimistic and careful view on our world and the concept of religion as a whole. Even though it is very clearly satire on religion, it doesn't insult Christianity nor does it downright dismiss it completely, and that is very much shown all the way to the final episode. And to me that is a very powerful message and recurring theme of the show, and one I wish many other shows tried to do but better

The stop motion animation is also incredible for a TV production. Some of the scenes and shots in this show are incredibly impressive and unique. The work done in ShadowMachine to make this show come to life is admirable and one that shouldn't be taken for granted.

Please give this show a chance, you will not be disappointed. (And you may cry, like how I have with several episodes because of how deep they resonated with me)

It could've been worse.
26 February 2022
Putting the entire SpongeBob spinoff controversy aside, and after watching several episodes, this show wasn't as bad as I was hoping it would be, and honestly for a show relying on it's comic relief as a main character it could've fared far worse. It's better than Planet Sheen or Young Sheldon in terms of that, and to me that's a huge compliment and a step up from the others.

Maybe it's the abstract feel of the show that got me pulled in? There are a lot of fun animation gags and odes to certain cartoon tropes that I wasn't expecting, and I had a fun time in some episodes. I wish I could hate this considering the complications Nick has with squeezing every single bit of the Sponge out. But at its absolute worst... it's only somewhat mediocre or serves as just candy for your eyes and that's about it.

Sammy (2000–2021)

NBC never gave this a chance
2 January 2022
I am genuinely surprised that NBC never gave this show a chance and left it to die. After watching every single episode of the series, with them being archived on the internet, I can safely say that Sammy is one of NBC's most interesting tv shows ever made, poking the right amount of quips at contemporary Hollywood (at the time) and having a lot of heart and bits of character development.

Not my favorite show in the world, but after giving this one a chance I can safely tell you that this one was worth watching. And for having so many popular actors and guest stars attached, I'm surprised it was ever lost to time and shelved forever. Maybe it was a licensing thing which prevented it from being aired? Nonetheless, David Spade really deserved better than the treatment this show got, and I'm glad everyone in the world is now able to watch this. Low-five!

Teen Titans Go!: The Cape (2013)
Season 3, Episode 53
8/10
G-rated abridged titans
9 October 2019
Even though this is one of the first episodes of Teen Titans, dubbed in the GO! style, this is one of the funniest the show has gotten.

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think this episode is as bad as people say it is. I can understand why this show is not typically for anyone or everyone, and I understand the disappointment that people have with this show. But I personally think this is one of the most hilarious things TTG can do. And since it's a comedy show, they've done it's job.

The entire episode feels improvised and they made up with stuff along the way, and all of it makes the episode ridiculous and stupid. But, if you have ever watched an anime abridged series on YouTube where all of the dialogue is changed and makes the characters sound like parodies of themselves, its exactly that; the only thing that's really different is that it's child/family friendly.

Teen Titans GO! is a ridiculous and ludicrous show that doesn't make sense sometimes and it's disappointing that the original hasn't continued for years. But in reality, this show is a comedy show. It doesn't have to be Teen Titans. If you hate TTG, try giving some episodes a second chance with a different mindset.

A heartfelt, hilarious movie that embraces change
9 August 2019
Even though this show won't appear familiar to people who haven't watched the original Rocko's Modern Life, it managed to exceed my expectations as a standalone film, actually. This was a hilarious movie, and it never once felt like it was just made for the sake of reviving an old show. All of the jokes and characterization of the old show is still there, but it has a message to tell about accepting change, in a world where everything in our lives change rapidly.

It's recommended to check several episodes of the show out first before seeing this special however, as most of the special would be lost without certain context. Regardless, this was one of the best things Nickelodeon has ever decided to green-light and I'm so glad I was able to sat through it the whole way, laughing along with my favorite characters from 20 years ago. If Rocko doesn't get revived in the future (which I doubt), this is the perfect conclusion to wrap the show up in a perfect bow.

In general, this show and this movie are a must watch.

BoJack Horseman (2014–2020)
10/10
The most realistic animated show ever made
6 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not a fan of adult shows. I expect the least out of them, mostly all of them focusing around shitty jokes about sexist, racist, and stereotypical jokes, with an unrealistic feel and no complexity. BoJack Horseman is a show that raised my expectations and made me think differently about what could be made in an adult show, if they had writers as smart as this.

In the neighborhood of Hollywoo, this show is about an anthropomorphic horse named BoJack Horseman, who starred as the main character in a 90's family sitcom titled Horsin' Around. Years later after his show had ended, he tries to force himself to get his groove back with the help of his own workers and friends, but suddenly drops down to rock bottom again every time he tries to.

In Season 1, it may look half-assed in the start and I almost got out of it. However, I tried watching more of it to give it another shot, and now I can't stop watching it. Seasons 2 and 3 are really hilarious. It's also heavily realistic, despite it's world where anthropomorphic animals live together with humans.

----

Summary of each season:

In season 1, BoJack Horseman hires a ghostwriter; Diane Nguyen, to write a biography about himself, He tries to connect himself with Diane despite her being with someone else; a golden retriever named Mr. Peanutbutter, who also made a sitcom inspired by Horsin' Around. He also gets help and advice from his agent and once-girlfriend Princess Carolyn, and tries to get his friend Todd to do things for his future, but it doesn't end up so well for his slacker-self.

There was a really stunning and to the point episode of the show's future in Season 1 involving the creator of Horsin' Around and BoJack titled "The Telescope." Herb Kazzaz, the creator of the show, has rectal cancer and meets up with BoJack after many years, but he never forgives BoJack for not meeting up with him when nobody else would.

In season 2, BoJack finally gets his dream, as he stares as the main character in a movie titled Secretariat. He ends up firing the original director, Kelsey Jannings, after trying to film a shot in a scene that wasn't supposed to make the cut. Mr. Peanutbutter and Todd do business ventures and they never seem to end up well. I love this season, mostly because of Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter's funny business plans, and also the episodes relating to PB's show, "Hollywoo Stars And Celebrities: What Do They Know? Do They Know Things? Let's Find Out!".

BoJack ends up leaving for two months during the production of his own movie to finding his old deer friend Charlotte, in the episode "Escape from L.A." after having visions of her during the show. He tries to get in touch of her, despite having a husband and kids, but he never tries. He also almost ends up having sex with her daughter Penny.

Season 3 is by far the best season. It shows the absolute dark secrets that Hollywoo has and how fame and fortune is less valuable then life. In this season, BoJack ends up finding Cuddlywhiskers, the creator of a forgotten 2007 show he starred in titled "The BoJack Horseman Show" whom disappeared after the show failed. He also gets into problems involving the Oscars.

Many of the episodes here are extremely memorable, I can't even say ONE episode that's the most. The season finale, "That Went Well," is a big hitter though. BoJack goes rock bottom and disappears from his original fame life in Hollywoo, while his once-friends do something better for their own life.

----

There is A LOT that this show tackles with, such as fame, fortune, relationships, addiction, and parenting. There is so much more than what I've explained in my review, and I suggest you should AT LEAST get a Netflix trial if you haven't and check out every episode.

This is a must watch by anyone and meets new grounds for adult animation.

Pucca (2004–2017)
8/10
Very cute, inspirational, action packed, adorable, and creative.
23 September 2014
A simple character from South Korean flash animations becomes the next big thing. I am surprised something so simple became to be known as this! Amazing!

Pucca is an animated kids TV show based off the animated flash shorts and ecards from South Korean company Vooz. It was made when companies like Walt Disney, Jetix, Studio B Productions, and others tried to get Vooz's permission for international distribution. And this TV show was made very well!

The show takes place in Sooga Village, a very small town (in Korea?), and the home of our main characters. Pucca is an 11/12 year old girl who lives in a Chinese noodle shop called the Go-Ron restaurant, and with her 3 guardians who also live and work at the shop. She also is in love with a 13 year old ninja named Garu, who is very skilled and really flexible and silent. There are other characters like Abyo and Ching, who are friends with Pucca, Ring Ring, a fashion girl who wants to dominate Pucca, Destiny, a friendly dragon with a musical talent, Tobe, the supposed main villain of the show, and a lot of others.

The characters in this show and the setting is really cool, including Pucca. She is so cute, so nice, very adorable, and she is also AWESOME. Pucca and Garu's relationship is also cute and very funny as well. The characters are also very creative, including the main villains and other protagonists.

The show's slapstick and violence is funny and done right. Anytime a character gets hurt, it's always put in the most silliest ways ever. I haven't enjoyed slapstick that much since I have watched Tom and Jerry and The Looney Tunes!

The episodes are also pretty cool. One of those episodes is one about fortune cookies, one about a relationship change with Ring Ring and Garu, one where they go to Tokyo, one about Abyo and Ching becoming news reporters, and one involving an actual plot about a never accruing minor character. It has very creative and inspirational plots that anyone would enjoy.

The voice acting is great! Tabitha (who was the actor for Rarity in the most popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic show) did an amazing job acting for Pucca, and so have the other actors acting for other characters.

The originality is really really up. This is a very great idea of Kim, Disney, Vooz, and the Studio B production to come up with this idea of a TV show.

I am really stunned to see that the producers and directors unexpectedly stopped making episodes for the second season. If it were to continue, it would've probably been one of the best kids shows out there, Right above SpongeBob! Overall, the whole show is amazing and exciting. I suggest you to take a look at it or even the whole series. Really fun, really cute, one of the best.
