Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Booooring
What a load of touchy-feely "I'm so conflicted" rubbish. Everybody is having problems with their feelings, everybody is so caring, it makes me want to vomit! Even the ships computer now has feelings! Give me break! Who writes this pap. The 'whispering god' (Michael) is still the only one with the solution to every problem, even making Star Fleet council members vote her way even though she has no legal say in star Fleet matters. She's so right in every matter, she should be the president without the need for a council.
And they got rid of one blabbering crew member, (Tilly) and replaced her with another (Adira) neither of which should have even been at the academy, let alone graduate.
I agree with other user reviews that said it has turned to a soap opera with soap opera actors. Episode 7 was all talk, so much talk, I fell asleep. There was more action in the intro to an episode of TOS than in an entire episode of this dross. Gene Roddenberry must be turning in his grave seeing what has happened to his creation.
A Call to Spy (2019)
Unconvincing
While the subject matter is an important story that should be told, there are some faults in the production. There seems to be no blackout in force either in London or in France. Cars drive at night with full headlights on. A German officer tells a soldier to " get this flier out", a term that would not have been used by Germans at that time. Also, there are many gaps in the story. The prisoners caught trying to blow an ammunition train escape can with the aid of a Monopoly game, but are not shown how they escaped. Once they escape, they go straight back to their base, the first place the Germans would look for them. There are many other scenes such as these that make the film look like it has cheap production values.
Footy Legends (2006)
Not much to see here
I started watching this film expecting a good old Aussies knockabout working class blokes versus the rich entitled snobs story, but was badly disappointed. The acting was poor, especially An Doh, the editing second rate and poor direction. It beggars belief that this lot of unfit dole bludgers could win a anything, let alone a rugby game. They couldn't even beat a bunch of garbos! The plot shows that after playing one game and drawing that game, they are in to the final, without playing any other teams.
Glad I didn't pay to see this.
Disturbing the Peace (2020)
Not worth your time.
Badly directed with a weak script and characters, rubbish action and looks like the editor was comotose. Guy Pearce spent most of the running time wandering around the town seemingly undetected while the so-called hardened criminal shot hostages at will with what look like B.B.guns. I've seen better weapons at a carnival shooting gallery. There seemed to be only about 12 people in the whole town and while there were no road blocks, nobody else came into the town. Not worth 1 star. A total waste of time.
