Drink Masters (2022)
Worst Host Ever
This show basically follows the format of "Top Chef" with mixologists.
The problem is the host. He has no personality. He knows nothing about mixology. And then he gives feedback as if he has any idea what he's talking about. No.
The camera work is good. The judges are fine. The guest judges are interesting. The challenges are interesting. If they could get a decent host, it could come together.
That's about all I have to say, but this app insists that each review contain a minimum number of characters. So now I'm just making things up so that I can post my review. This is silly. Burrrrrrp.
Abbott Elementary (2021)
Accurate
I'm a teacher, and this show is accurate. From the lack of support from administration to the condescending attitude of experienced teachers, this is EXACTLY what it's like to be a new teacher. That's why we lose so many teachers in the first three years.
Case 39 (2009)
Very Pedictable
I would think that Zellweger and Cooper would have better judgement than to take part in such a hokey movie. This is just not good on any level. Find your horror fix somewhere else.
The Bridge (2013)
Compelling
As someone who teaches students with special needs, I find the character of Sonya North spot-on. I think this is a VERY well-put-together show. It is well-cast, well-scripted, and does a great job of keeping the audience in suspense.
Interestingly, I thought North was the protagonist, not Ruiz. While we do see Ruiz's home life in the pilot, we learn an awful lot about North's life. It is also great to see Ted Levine in a show again. I wonder how one goes from being Buffalo Bill in "The Silence of the Lambs" to playing a cop repeatedly.
It will be interesting to learn how Matthew Lillard and Annabeth Gish's characters will fit into the story. I can't wait to get lost in the episodes of this show!
