Barbie (I) (2023)
7/10
Just enjoy it. It's funny.
23 July 2023
First off, I'm a 60 year-old white male and this movie wasn't even made for me.

If your at all interested, then go see this movie. It's funny. It has a lot of funny lines and scenes.

The recreation of the set is incredible, but maybe a little vidual indigestion. You adapt quickly.

The characters are really good. Perfect for what they are expected to be. Both the main Barbie and Ken are excellently portrayed.

There is a feminist overtone, but there is no lack of irony and mockery of both sexes. No one is asking you to be moved or to change your political or other persuasion. Just relax and enjoy it as a comedy.

The people who criticize this movie for political or macho reasons are way out of bounds and are too easily swayed by today's political environment. This move is a funny comedy that might actually open your eyes to a feminist point of view of you choose to absorb it. If not, you'll still laugh and call it a good time.

Eh, a little bit of lazy writing
20 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Chi McBride character is annoyingly flat and unnecessary.

Every drama series has the episode or series of episodes in which an outside person comes to threaten the dynamic of the team. An auditor, inspector, or in the case a big money influence. It's almost always annoying. In this case, it's worse than annoying. The character, played by McBride, is a jerk for no reason. He decided he didn't like house early in his first appearance and his entire character had no purpose other than to threaten the dynamic of the team. We're supposed to hate the character for his looming threats, but we end up hating the episodes for dragging this kind of drama into a shoe that didn't need the diversion.

Nothing against Chi McBride. I like him in many other roles, I just didn't like the way he was written into House.

Intentional and Deliberate Shark Jumping
20 May 2023
This episode is terrible, no matter how non-serious the intention.

Bad writing, bad acting, bad direction and just bad television.

The good news is that this episode can be skipped without missing anything in the larger scheme of Murdoch Mysteries.

This episode reminds me of Gilligan's Islan.

Mímico should not be brought up again.

The concept of the episode is ridiculous and stupid.

Just skip an episode and play a rerun. Don't waste time and money on this junk.

This episode is terrible, no matter how non-serious the intention.

Don't wast your time.

This episode is terrible, no matter how non-serious the intention.

No. Not good.
2 January 2023
This shoe started well, had some tense moments, then just fell apart. The end was even worse.

All of the characters are idiots for their behavior. The bad guys are stupid. The cops are even more stupid and the main character really made bad decisions throughout.

This might have came around if they made a fifth episode to bring it all to a close.

I'm really disappointed with the way they built it up, then dragged it on, then just dumped the whole thing into a pile of crap.

To make it clear. The show started well, dragged on for a while. Took two left turns and dropped off a cliff. Watch Shetland instead.

Shark jumping in progress
6 November 2022
Rosalind is boring and ridiculous. The new rookie with the psychic/astrology tilt is annoying. I'm stopping now. The episodes are hard to watch and it feels like I'm for I g myself to watch TV. Sorry. The show started with a good premise but became some kind of weird world in which a uniformed cop solves all the major crimes, and they sprinkle in terrible villains with outrageous scenarios.

It's a shame because the cast is mostly really good and some of the characters have potential to be interesting. Unfortunately, they ruined the show with the lack of interesting ideas and the over exaggerated idea that one uniformed cop could resolve all these extreme cases.

The she is getting a little too weird.
5 October 2022
I'm still going to push on, but it's starting to drag. The weirdness is less interesting and more .........weird.

But, the reason I'm writing this review on this episode is that this one lost focus entirely.. the story didn't move and the scenes were long, slow and uninteresting.

Worse, the soundtrack from this episode sounds like a chainsaw cutting through a stack of chalkboards. It's so bad that I had to Ute it a number of times.

Preacher had a mystery about it in season 1. Season two so far has been a wandering road trip with barely any focus on a plot. Unfortunately, this episode is the worst so far and makes me consider stopping the series.

Wow, or bow-wow,
5 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This show is terrible.

1. The main character is so over the top annoying that that show is hard to watch. If it were billed as slapstick comedy and written that way, maybe a sitcom would be OK. As a cop show meant to be taken serious, not a chance.

2. There is no discipline or structure to the fictional FBI. They talk over each other and it's hard to tell who is in charge. No realism.

3. The evil main boss lady in the first episode couldn't be more stereotypical. Really bad writing and paper thin character development.

4. The crime and plot barely started and it escalated to the conclusion and arrest. The only "FBI" police work was a couple of super lucky clues she fell into and a scratch of a suspect at a stoplight. Write something.

Better. Some silliness and some action
4 October 2022
This episode was better the last one. We need more Nolan training the trainee. I think the show should stick to that as a center, but the other characters are OK. The lawyer dude working I. The DA office is interesting.

James is a good character. They should expand on his talent. The guy is a good actor.

I'm still holding my breath (and my nose) about the antagonist from the S5E1. Uninteresting and boring. Please let this terrible(ly written and acted) villain disappear.

It might be a good time to bring in some new rookies and start a full training schedule. That's the heart of the show and, in my opinion, and the theme can stay there without the super exaggerated) villains.

Change something or fade away
4 October 2022
I like The Rookie. It's mostly good. Sure, there are a lot of filler episodes, but the light comedy mixed with the action. Can be entertaining.

This episode is mostly he same. Light hiker, some action, and a new theme develops for the season.

The problem here is the main antagonist is boring, over the top and unnecessary. I have a sense of dread thinking the whole season will be in pursuit of this person. Yawn, eye roll. More eye roll.

I like Nyla and her boyfriend. He's a good actor and doesn't over do it. Also, the sergeant is funny and a good character.

Also. The guy who was once famous for having been accused of murder but decided to be a cop is good. Use him more.

Of course Lucy is the star.

One of the greatest movies of all time.

I don't know how anyone could rate this anything less than 9. The cast is perfect, tbe writing is perfect and the story is constantly moving through the plot.

This is one of the greatest comedies of all time.

28 June 2022
It was entertaining for a while, but it turned into a monologue at the end. That's disappointing because this show has had good writing for most of the episodes.

I still like the characters and the setting, but the writers need ti do better next season.

Terrible movie, even before the political bias
29 May 2022
It's just nit a good movie. Boring and barely strung together.

Once you add tbe politics, it gets even worse. There are no facts shown in this "movie." As an example, the FBI arrested the murderer (August) of the little girl a full two months before the so-called evidence was provided by these people (October. ). It's just a lie.

Also, the "evidence" of ballot stuffing was investigated (by republicans) and shown to be a legitimate Cole ruin of ballots. Another lie.

These movies and the people who make them in the name of "truth" should be held accountable for their lies.

The climax of the episode was like The Three Amigos meet The Three Stooges.

If they don't want to take it serious, just turn it into a comedy.

Here are some more letters and words to meet the minimum requirement.

Not a good movie
28 April 2022
I like action movies. I like dark thrillers. I like revenge flicks.

This one tried to be all three and failed at each one.

The music was terrible too.

A lot of mumbling. The scenes are all dark and hard to see.

I didn't like it.

I was excited when I saw this episode had a 9.7 rating.

Sorry, it wasn't that good. It was definitely interesting and it was absolutely strange, but it isn't worthy of a 9.7.

It's good, but too long.
21 February 2022
I'm only writing this because someone else rated it poorly due to violence and bad language.

First, it's a good movie. Interesting characters, a moving plot. It is too long. I'd like to see a 2 hour cut version.

As for violence and bad language.........we'll, it's actually very accurate in that respect. Having "grown up" in the subject period, I can confirm that these aspects of the depiction are real.

Too bad...
21 February 2022
Another episode that is better than many of the negative reviews. Harry is still Harry. The plot is moving forward. Some funny things were said.

Yeah, like every show that ever existed, season 2 introduces some new characters and the writers are trying new things so they don't run out of flow. It takes time to build back momentum. Real fans will give real feedback that will contribute to future seasons.

Too bad some people have to project their biased political attitudes in reviews about television shows. Good thing the Tucker Carlson show is there for these people to fall back on. These "I'm finished...." reviews that throw the woke word around as if it's a disease are transparently biased.

Don't listen to the haters
21 February 2022
First, the episode moved the plot along. Also, it was funny. It may not be the best episode of the series. So what. It was still funny and part of the story.

Second, people who think women's issues are politics are short sighted and clearly have a political bias. Don't they have a rally to attend?

Scoobie doo meets John Wick
18 February 2022
I like the show in general. The action scenes are good and the macho attitude is spot on.

The scoobie doo story wrap up is cheesy. At least it continued on to more action for the final closure.

I'll watch the second season but I won't put as much thought into the mystery..

Well, not great.
7 January 2022
The character fortunately survives this mess, but this sequel is not very good. The villains are cartoonishly bad. The story is chaotic. I'm not a fan of this move and I really liked the first one.

Hopefully Sony learned from this and can move on to a part three.

Good movie, excellent soundtrack

Good movie, excellent soundtrack. As a guy, I've never been into the Disney stuff. Not since I was a kid anyway.

This story is much more serious, but still funny, modern and entertaining.

The soundtrack is really really good.

Claudia Black is annoying
22 December 2021
Claudia Black's character is annoying, unnecessary and uninteresting. The lack of Jack is bad enough, but this lady has ruined the show entirely. Loud, obnoxious and a fake dynamic with Daniel Jackson. She is in most of the episodes going forward. I'm done watching.

I like that general Hammond was in this episode, I liked nothing else about it. The story was pointless, the weird lady I. The center of the story was unexciting, and the episode did nothing for the series.

Scoobie-doobie-doo
6 December 2021
A weird mix of Scoobie-Doo and a die hard spoof. It's entertaining enough, but a LOT of coincidence has to occur for the story to take place.

I'm baffled that the US President has a British accent. The show clearly had a large budget. They could at least hire an American actor or get someone that pulls off an American accent.
