Fugget About It (2012–2021)
10/10
Simply brilliant!
28 May 2017
Low brow toilet humour at it's best.Being of a certain age myself i grew up watching The Young Ones, Red Dwarf, Bottom and Blackadder so this didn't offend me in the slightest. Nope, not a bit because it wasn't presented in an offensive manner. Well written and well presented, i had at least 1 Laugh Out Loud episode per episode and, even though i probably only chuckled once per show, that chuckle lasted for around 23 minutes! I found this excellent show on Saturday and it is now 4:30am on Monday morning, so, Thank you Willem Wennekers and Nicholas Tabarrok ( and to a slightly lesser extent, Jeff Abugov )...Thank you for providing some laughs in an age where they are somewhat lacking in general!

Although in my efforts of binge-watching this excellent show i now have nothing to replace it. So....Damn You for getting my hopes up Wennekers and Tabarrok ( and to a slightly lesser extent yet again, Jeff Abugov )! ... Please make Season 4!....Pretty Please with a cherry on the top!

PS. I gave it 10 out of 10 not because it is worth 10 out of 10 but because it is worth more than 5.9/10...it's gotta be 8/10 or Fugget about it!

Misleading title and poor finale, but still, once you are invested in the plot you feel that you have to see it through
13 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
By the time i had gotten far enough into the movie to "give it a go" i was far too invested in it to give up (or maybe just too lazy to spend time looking for something else to watch). As has been said, the movie mainly focuses on one guy's emotional downwards spiral and how it is affecting his two friends. The ending? well that was just a cop out. There was no real finale as such. It was like buying a huge firework that has this long fuse that, when the fuse reaches the firework and you are expecting this huge display of sound and light and all you get is "pufft". Oh, and, although it is titled "The Possession of David O'Reilly" i didn't actually see any scene where David O'Reilly was ever actually possessed at all. It was more about a poor guy going crazy and trying to keep something, that may or may not have been a figment of his imagination, out of his friends house. Now, the thing is, it could have been really quite good, the groundwork was all sound. But, unfortunately for the viewers, it was as though the screenplay writer/s were on a deadline and didn't have time to work out a real plot for the end. There are a few jumpy scenes and parts where you are led into the start of a good story, but thats where it stops. It's no "Blair Witch" or "Paranormal Activity"...but, quite easily could have been with a little more thought and what was there was quite well done.

Really let down, mainly, by the poor ending 4/10

Soul Surfer (2011)
10/10
If you haven't seen it then DO!
21 August 2011
I'm a big fan of surf movies and was a little put off by the cast list thinking that the whole 'hollywood' feel would detract from everything that's important in the movie (especially Kevin Sorbo with his past movies and TV), so much so i put off seeing this movie for quite some time. What a big mistake! The whole cast was fantastic! I have seen Kevin Sorbo in a different light, AnnaSophia Robb has come a long way since her Violet Beauregard role and Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid simply brilliant. I was even quietly surprised by Carrie Underwoods performance. The bite scene just left me cold, both times i watched this and to see Bethany ripping it up again (she was a both a stunt double and AnnaSophias surf coach) was both inspirational and amazing. Cinematography - Amazing Soundtrack - Kickass Moral - Just do it!

Just goes to prove, surfing is not a sport but a part of who a person is!
