Charlie's Angels (2019)
Much better than expected
People are easily being over critical of the movie. I think it was a good edgy modern adaptation of the story. Although it was the outline of a generic action movie...The fight scenes were good, the story actually surprised me in its plot despite, and the characters were enjoyable to me as well. The people in the theatre were enjoying it and laughing throughout as well. I went with a large group of friends (a mix of genders) who were all pleasantly surprised.
I think people are going into this expecting it to be exactly like what they already enjoy from Charlie's Angels and being critical of everything different. While some negative reviews are reasonable, most seem to be waiting to spew hate. I bet most of them didn't actually see it or left before anything really happened. I definitely feel the second half of the movie was better than the first.
The movie was totally acceptable for what it was, I found it enjoyable and don't think anything in particular in it should've been done differently.
Tangled: The Series: Destinies Collide (2019)
Wonderful close for the season
Leaving us wanting more, answering questions and yet posing a bunch more. The plot escalates and we are on the edge of our seats more than ever as we wonder what will or won't happen in the story. Just as we believe all has worked out, a final twist prevents the story from closing too early. Well thought out and is unexpected while still fitting well with our story so far. Easy to tell that the crew planned it from the beginning and care deeply about this story.
Tangled: The Series: Rapunzel and the Great Tree (2019)
Brilliant turning point for the series
The music, animation, and story all take it a step forward yet again! I watched this episode multiple times, some in a row!
Tangled: The Series (2017)
Amazing series adaptation
The show only grows better and better as it goes on. Sometimes it almost feels like the movie is just simply prologue to this show! The story is a good continuation of the movie and makes sense with what we already know while adding move loveable characters and even answering the unanswered from the Tangled movie in a plausible way. Not only do we see Rapunzel and Eugene grow leaps and bounds as characters and as a couple but also Rapunzel's parents, the tavern men from I Have a Dream, and the royal guard members become more established as well (just to name a few). The music is also quite spectacular as per usual for DIsney, particularly in season 2.
Kim Possible (2019)
Much better than expected!
It had the nostalgia of the cartoon mixed with the cheesy dcoms I liked as a kid. I feel the modern adaptation reaches to a whole new generation. They stayed true to the characters from the villains to Kim's family and schoolmates. Sure it's campy and cartoony but so was the original and so are all dcoms. The writers from the original cartoon had a large part in this and you can tell. They really care for this story and creating something new while paying constant tribute to the old. And I didn't find the acting cringy at all? It's a dcom, it's going to be silly, the acting is no worse than Descendants or HSM or Camp Rock etc.
I really don't understand all the hate for the movie expect for people whining that it's not some edgy blockbuster without even giving it a chance. Honestly? I want to see more from this cast. Besides, this is a chance for the original cartoon to be on air again.
