Queer Eye for the Straight Guy UK (2004)
the very definition of failure
holy crap this is a bad show. First and foremost I absolutely adore the US version of queer eye, but this doesn't even compare to it. All the people on the show are really unfunny and camp and the end result of the makeover never makes you go WOW like the US version. This show is bad because I find the Uk version of the fab five really annoying. . But the absolute worst thing about this show is that it has lost all the charm and wit which attracted me to the original. I love the US fab five with Carson making me crack into hysterics every second, Kyan melting me with his hot hotness, and the rest of the guys being fun, lovable and way more enjoyable to watch.
To conclude I will say, stop screwing us over Living TV by showing us this copied piece of B.S. Stick to the original and get rid of the English Queer eye for the straight guy.
By the way this is an unbiased comment since I'm English and not a homoephobe or anything.
Freaky Friday (2003)
Thank God
Yes, thank God that they are finally making Disney movies that aren't sickly sweet anymore.
Freaky Friday is about a mother and daughter (Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan) who argue all the time, and so to make them see eye to eye, an insane Chinese restaurant owner gives them fortune cookies which makes them swap places with each other, O.K.
Sure, this movie isn't going to be fun unless you open your mind enough to accept the storyline. But, if you can, get ready for a Disney movie that harkens (is that a word?) back to the days of Aladdin or Bambi, just less deer, and more witty banter.
The acting in this movie is great and sees Lindsay Lohan paving her way to future success big time. Jamie Lee Curtis is as normal the constant pro, and it is fun seeing her working her comedic chops which she fine tuned in 'a fish called Wanda.'
To sum up, Freaky Friday is the movie that breathes life back into the old parent-child switcharoo movie, and rekindles my love for Disney. The best teen movie of the year, which unlike 'thirteen' young teens can actually rent without a fake ID.
