Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Brilliant, nostalgic and new at the same time!
Oh jeeezo Fanboys!? Wtf!! The reviews on here with everyone crying that it's "The Teela Show" are absolutely ridiculous. Have you never ever watched a movie? Or a show? Plot lines twist and change guys??
Also for those crying that it's been created for the snowflake audience who need a female centric show, did you never watch the original? Yeah the "main character" was male, but a whole bunch of the other charters were female. It was always about a host of characters working together, seriously guys go back and listen to the end of episode morals.
The animation is excellent, some of it absolutely blew me away. The voice acting is a great homage to the style of the original. The soundtrack compliments it all perfectly.
SPOILER -
As for them "killing off He-Man and Skeletor" I'm pretty sure the doughballs leaving those reviews switched off after episode 1, and didn't see how it panned out, they probably also don't realise there's a second part. So take a chill pill guys, untwist your knickers and enjoy it for the epic mix of nostalgic goodness and interesting twisting storytelling that it is. Well done Kevin Smith!
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Excellent!!
Loving this so far, beautifully shot and feels true to what I know and love of Picard.
Joker (2019)
Insanely brilliant!
This is a truly epic piece of cinema. Phoenix' performance is up there with the greatest in film history. He's compelling, uncomfortable, sad and horrible all at the same time. Multiple times during the movie I caught myself smiling and grimacing along with him. His portrayal of a man descending into utter madness and realising his true self at the same time is so complex yet oddly relatable. The physicality of Arthur's frame and movement is incredible, every second he's on screen i found it impossible to be distracted. He's taken the character to a new level, with the most believable (and for that reason) terrifying Joker yet.
The cinematography throughout is glorious, the use of colour and framing along with the eerie and unsettling score works so well.
I understand that some fanboys might have issues with comic cannon of the piece, but for me there were so many nods to multiple different Joker portrayals and stories that I was more than happy to accept it as a part of DC Comic's universe.
If this movie doesn't pick up multiple Oscars then I'll be shocked.
#Followme (2019)
Annoying!!!
Honestly, after 5 minutes I was actually rooting for any murderer that might show up. Possibly the most irritating performances in a horror movie I've ever seen. "Yeah baaaaabe"
I gave it 2 stars for the LA scenery. Didn't get past 20 minutes before wanting to rip my own ears off and stuff them in my eyes
