Bait (III) (2012)

It's a bit of fun. Treat it that way
6 October 2012
I'm going to start off by saying, this movie was awful. The story itself is ridiculous, the script is very poor, and the acting was average at best (although Julian McMahon put on a solid performance.

But I loved it. This is the type of movie you go see with a bunch of friends and just sit back and enjoy. It's a 'leave your brain at the door' type of movie. There are some comical lines as well as ridiculously stupid lines that just make you cry out with laughter. It's clearly evident that this movie is not taking itself serious at all, the story tells you that.

But you can still have a lot of fun with it. Don't sit there picking out all the flaws (because there are a hell of a lot of them), and don't take it seriously, the movie was not designed that way. Just enjoy the fact that "there's a 12 foot great white shark in here". There are some awesome scenes, as well as some really cool deaths (some that you wouldn't ever imagine)

The bottom line is, just enjoy the badness of this film, don't think about it, don't take it seriously, just enjoy it. That's what it was designed for.

Christopher Nolan delivers yet again
20 July 2012
I went into this movie with extremely high expectations, and it definitely did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded them. Christopher Nolan has done it yet again. He continues to amazes me, pulling off masterpiece after masterpiece. The Dark Knight Rises had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I'm finding it hard to put into words how good this movie was. The story: superb. The script: perfect. Soundtrack: awesome. The acting: brilliant. Anne Hathaway, someone I was worried about going into this surprised me with a nothing short of perfect performance. Bale was great as always, as well as Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman. Joseph Gordon-Levitt I am a big fan of, and he did not disappoint in this movie. One BIG special mention, however, has to go to Michael Caine. In this movie, he gives the performance of his life! Never have I seen Michael Caine like this. I've loved him the entire series but in this movie, he was absolutely brilliant. His performance as the beloved Alfred was so real, showing his despair and wish for a better life for Bruce. While this movie is very long, it is never slow. New information is revealed continually revealed along the way, with some of the twists in this movie so unbelievably unpredictable, no-one will ever see them coming. Heath Ledger's presence was definitely missed, but Tom Hardy as Bane was a fine replacement. The film itself was very dark and grim, as Bane attempts to destroy Gotham City and the wanted Batman returns to save a city that doesn't even want him. Despite prior anxiety that I would not be able to understand a word Bane said, his mask added to the evil character that is Bane, and on the whole was easily understood. Overall, this movie is the best film of 2012 and any other of the next decade will be lucky to top this masterpiece.
