Student of the Year (2012)

refreshing movie

SOTY is a karan johar film through and through. right from the clothes to the cinematography. his attention to detail is impeccable. i wish the actors in the movie could "act" as well as they "look", but i'm not complaining.

Alia bhatt looks beautiful with the designer dresses and Louis vuitton hand-bags that she keeps flaunting. if only she had taken the time to concentrate more on her acting skills and a little less on her looks, she would've received more appreciation.

the guys are great. firstly, their bodies! my,oh my! varun's acting really stands out as he creates his character-rohan. however, siddharth's acting looked rehearsed and almost emotion-less.

rishi kapoor's role was fresh and funny. ronit Roy and ram kapoor have done justice to their roles though they don't have a lot of screen space.

the whole school experience is dealt with beautifully, though there are scenes where you'll be a little lost( just 1 or 2).

i wouldn't say it is a MUST watch movie, but it's certainly not one that you must miss. ;)

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

not worth watching in the theatre!

I had huge expectations from this movie. I had thought andrew would be,as they say, amazing. unfortunately, he was, well, himself!

The story is pretty different from the previous spiderman movies. However, the first half is similar to the first half an hour of spiderman 1! yes, it is that boring!

Andrew Garfield has done a pretty good job, but his dialogue delivery is kinda sad. I was really impressed by Emma Stone. she looks pretty and has a don't-mess-with-me attitude,which is crucial for her character.

I found myself looking at my watch for almost most of the first half. The story, however, picks up in the second half with the advent of the lizard. The 3-D was mediocre, almost useless.

So, basically, do not waste time and money at the theatre to watch this movie. you'd rather rent this movie out or download (oops, did i just say that?)!

Fashion (2008)

a must watch movie

Okay, quite frankly, i decided to watch the movie only for Priyanka Chopra but Mudhur's direction and the screen play bowled me over!

"Fashion" is a story about a small-town girl who dreams to make it big in the modelling industry. As in any bollywood movie,her wish comes true and what she does with her new found popularity is what keeps the audience captivated.

As far as Priyanka's acting is concerned,i just have 1 word- AMAZING! It's no wonder she won the national award! I really liked kangana's acting too. I am not a huge fan of her squeaky accent but i guess it worked out for her in this movie! oh yes, she won the National award too for Best supporting actress. There you go- 2 national awards, if that is'nt enough reason to watch this movie, then i don't know what is!

However, i felt that the story was a bit predictable in-between,but with such amazing actors,it really did'nt bother me. Besides, the music fits the movie like a house on fire!

This movie is a MUST WATCH! don't miss it for the world.
