P!nk: All I Know So Far (2021)
ALL THE FEELS
What a great behind the scenes look at the beautiful trauma tour. P!nk is fiercely loyal, wickedly talented, fantastically strong, and a performer who I will adore, admire and follow till the world explodes. A tender soul with a cracked shell, an ambitious and creative visionary and a devoted momma and wife. She's just all the damn things. I admire few, but I surely admire her. And good lord she can sing. What an icon! Turn up the volume, sing loud and dance like you don't care!
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Watched twice. Still convoluted and disappointing.
*Spoilers*
I am an enormous WW fan. I still have my Linda Carter doll from my childhood and a box full of silver age comics I can't sell. After WW I wanted to stay in the theater and immediately watch it again. This one I couldn't wait for it to be over. It was such a convoluted and contrived story (yeah, yeah fiction but still) it was ridiculous. It's too long. The opening action scene is one of the best of the movie but has nothing to do with the plot line except to establish the truth is good. Duh. Maxwell Lord is basically Trump 1984, a moppy headed poorly dressed failed business man lying and greedily stealing from others while destroying societies for his own enrichment. I'm sick of seeing that every day for the last four years, yet Jenkins felt the need to end Trumps run by ruining a wonder women movie by forever sealing his like persona in it. Cheetah CGI was horrible, looks like a zombie in a reject fuzzy Cata leotard. The invisible jet was exciting, I cheered and threw my hands up (YES!), but then it immediately was no more and instead of taking a sweet opportunity for Steve to teach Diana how to fly a plane, he instead just tells her about air and wind and learning to feel it and bam suddenly she has a new superpower of flying sans plane. It's annoying enough she swings like Spider-Man through her action scenes, now she's one fist forward flying like Superman?! No. Sorry. Keep the plane. That is how WW flies. IN THE INVISIBLE PLANE. The jokes were lacking, and having been in my jr high prime in 1984 - they again didn't even take a swing at so many things to make light of. The music gold left on the floor was stunningly missing. Cheers to Bartles and Jaymes placement though! Wonder Woman herself seemed depressed and flat virtually the entire movie. Action scenes were well done. The entire President line I just didn't get.. was that supposed to be a mentally declining Reagan? And how does the guy at the end have zero recollection of their days together? Seems everyone else remembered what happened during "The Wishes" as they were rescinding their wishes and reversing course. Best part mid credits, but would've loved to see a bigger part for the Queen. Watching a second time did not make it better.
