Intelligence (2014)
10/10
No Comparison
10 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A previous reviewer made the comment that this show is too reminiscent of "Chuck". While I liked "Chuck", that is like comparing "Get Smart" to "Mission Impossible" (the original TV shows not the movies, look them up). "Chuck" had a mostly comedic feel. "Intelligence" has a much more serious feel to it, although it does have its comedic moments. I like "Intelligence". The number of shows I watch on TV shrinks every year it seems as they keep putting more and more crappy reality shows on the air. Intelligence is but one of the small handful that I do watch. Thankfully none of my shows got the ax this year, though, from what I read "Intelligence" is still on the chopping block. I hope it remains on the air. I like taping them on my DVR and watching them a few at a time. It's a lot less stressful that way. It's nice to see Marge Helgenberger in something other than "CSI". While I liked her character in the previous show, I like her much better as Gabriel's boss. I also like seeing John Billingsly in something serious and without alien prosthetics. I really like him as the scientist. The father and son Cassidy duo act like the comic relief at times, but get to be serious sometimes as well. This show has sufficient action, just enough humor not to take itself too seriously, elements of Sci-fi - without being too far-fetched. The only thing that would make it better is a bit of romance, I am a girl after all. If I want Romance, I'll watch "Beauty and the Beast", which is renewed for next season. For now, I just want to see what happens to Gabe and the team next week. Just in case someone from the network is reading this, please don't cancel this show!

Wish it were on DVD
22 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
While I don't hold to Eastern Mysticism, I liked this show very much. The characters were engaging and had you coming back week after week. I'd even go so far as to say I'd buy the entire series if the Carradine family ever released it on DVD. The last I heard, David had purchased all the rights to this franchise and his family had no interest in releasing them as of yet. I tried watching the original series when it was on as repeats, but I couldn't get into it. I saw enough to recognize scene's they'd borrowed as flashbacks for KF:TLC. At first I wasn't happy with the season three changes, but I really came to love Kermit Griffith. He was by far my favorite character, aside from Peter Caine, of course. I wish the show had run longer than 4 seasons. Thank goodness, fan fiction keeps canceled shows alive, even for the not so die-hard fan like me.

Chameleons (1989 TV Movie)
10/10
Totally awesome
17 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I was twelve in 1989. My whole family loved it, well maybe not my older brother, but he was going through his contrary phase. If we liked anything, he did not and vise versa. I wish they had made it into a TV show. I thought it was wonderful. It probably helped that I had a huge crush on Marcus Gilbert, who I only recently rediscovered thanks to a Doctor Who episode he was in. Doctor Who: Season 26, Episode 1 - Battlefield from the Sylvester McCoy era,(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0562831/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_17) if anyone's interested. Anyway, I still wonder about Chameleons from time to time. If they ever did release it on DVD I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. I wish we'd had a VHS machine at the time, but sadly we only barely had a TV that worked. I'm not even sure it was color, as you had to pay extra for that luxury in those days. Sorry, this review's become more of a history lesson than about the show. I don't remember much except for my impressions, which were wonderful, exciting, humorous, and brilliant; okay so maybe a little campy. I do remember the invisibility cloak that got them out of scrapes more than a time or two. I do love Crystal Bernard as an actress, which was one of the reasons we watched the show in the first place. Finding Marcus was just a bonus.

One of the best
6 January 2014
This has to be one of my favorite movies. Certainly my favorite James Purefoy movie. In fact it was thanks to this movie that I became a fan of Purefoy, this and 'A Knight's Tale'. Yes, it is a bit geared more for a younger audience, but as I don't watch rated R movies myself this suited me just fine. Anyone who has seen the Princess Bride can't miss the blatant reference. Still a good movie and as for Purefoy fans it's one of his best. The really great things is he gets the limelight and he actually plays the good guy. Please don't let the discouraging reviews keep you from watching this movie. I thought it was wonderful. Not too much gore, not too much cursing (if there were any). It's the perfect family movie, just enough action to keep the boys interested and just enough romance to keep the girls interested. The best part, there's a happy ending.

Free Fall (1999 TV Movie)
I loved this movie!
15 June 2004
I thought this was a great movie if I could buy it I would. I thought this was a great part for Scot Wentworht. I went for going cold turkey not getting to watch him in Kung fu anymore to this wonderful piece of storytelling. The fact that the actress who played Karen Simms (also from Kung Fu) was a great addition. I wish TV would play this movie more often. Not a lot of actors play a similar character that they've played for a few years on a TV show which I think is a shame. Most actors go from playing a good guy straight into a bad guy role. I'm glad that he played a good guy in this movie. I wish people would make more good guy movies like they did in the old days. No one makes movies like John wayne or Jimmy Stewart did. Someone needs to take the time to make a couple and I think Hollywood would get the idea that they would be more accepted then they think they would.

Murder by the Book (I) (1987 TV Movie)
10/10
I wish they'd play this movie on a cable station I get.
15 May 2004
Murder by the Book is by far the best movie I've ever seen. Funny, Romantic, Mysterious, and you'll never guess the ending. Robert Hays plays a writer with an alter ego, Biff Deagan, the main character of his novels. The Movie gets funnier and funnier as time goes on. This movie will either have you rolling on the floor laughing one minute or have glued to the edge of your seat the next. Other must see movies of Robert Hays are Trenchcoat, 50-50, and For Better or for Worse (Honeymoon Academy) (1990). If only movies nowadays could be as could as these I'd watch more movies. Robert Hays is at his best in all of these movies. Nothing would please me more than to see him make a comeback.
