2012: Ice Age (2011)
CRAP.....Crap....and MORE CRAP
if i could use NEGATIVE numbers to score this film, I would!
This was the WORST Sci-Fi movie I have EVER witnessed on the channel. Not only was the acting HORRIFIC, it was also a complete WASTE of time. I want my 2 hours back!!!!!
The worst actors had to be the son and daughter. Then again, the nuts don't fall far from the tree...
This script, the direction, and the acting give B-movies a bad name.
Don't waste your life, your time, or any energy on watching this crap. It was a pathetic attempt at mimicking "The Day After Tomorrow." A really LAME attempt at that.
Poco più di un anno fa (2003)
Excellent portrayal of Self-Loathing
I am an avid fan of foreign films, so i understand if the dimwits west of the Atlantic Ocean are baffled by what the auteur is depicting in this film.
It is about the soul-sucking world of pornography and how it can leave even its most "Adored" stars empty inside when they decide to not let their "work" define who they are as humans.
While the idea that a stranger could insinuate himself into the life of a child for whatever good-hearted reason, is preposterous, it does exemplify how we as society are unforgiving; even, when we profess to be "christians." GO figure.
I enjoyed the film and can only pity those who judged it for its outside appearances. But, then that is ONLY ONE of the messages that the films delivers...Judge not the book by its cover.
Car Wash (1976)
It is what it IS
If you like funny....pointless.....sophomoric humour, then this is the film for YOU! I have to admit I saw it when I was 11 years old and just fell in love with it! So, if you have a young child's memory of the film...see it...if you are over the age of 13 seeing it for the first time.....then it is what it is.
Given the fact it was even made in 1976 with a largely African-American cast says volumes. Yes, it has some buffoonery and a little step-and-fetchit, but then....these people were STILL working! Whose working now? And, as what? Final Word. It is light-hearted family entertainment and it could begin a dialogue in the family...something to which many of today's films won't ever aspire.
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
I have seen them ALL
I saw the original and can say that this is a well-made homage to a great film.
It is amazing how the same storyline can be made so fresh!!
It is NOT for the squeamish....my own heart was POUNDING as the end neared for the film.
Don't quite get what the ending was about....i will say, if you leave during the credits you can let our own imagination run WILD....and that is what i prefer....think Thelma and Louise.....did they die?!
I'll be the judge of that. THank YOU.
Watch it when you feel like a lazy day movie....then SLEEP ALONE!!!

Making Love (1982)
Somethings need to be said.
I believe that given this film was made in 1982, in the early stages of the AIDS epidemic, it IS groundbreaking.
For me, it was the film that helped a struggling 10 grader come to terms with his sexuality. Therefore, I recommend this film to anyone who wants to know what it is like to admit to yourself that you are in denial and being self-deceiving. It follows a man's journey through self-discovery and the unfortunate damage that this type of discovery can bring to a family, friends, and other loved ones, when the reality is finally admitted. Anyone who cannot see this for what it is may need to do some self-discovery work of his or her own to ascertain what is living just below the surface that is presented to the public.
Although the plot and story are a bit simplistic by today's standards, in its day it was revolutionary: a former TV star (Kate Jackson), up-and-coming hunkies star (Harry Hamlin), and the gorgeous guy next door type (Michael Ontkean). Even the sex scene between the men was too much for many in that time.
Al in all, I would say that it is not as bad as many have commented and it is not a tour-de-force of acting either. Just good, old-fashioned melodrama, American-style.
