I'm just writing this little message about what I loved and thought was a little silly about Dawn Of the Dead.
First off I just want to say for the most part Dawn Of The Dead ruled! It had everything you could want in a horror movie, chills, action, great black humor and just that right amount of fun action to keep you rooting for the good guys-who are really cool. I liked Peter the best . He just had that self confidence about everything he did, but could also be real funny and cool-like you could just hang with him. The satire Romero put in the film worked so well. I mean Zombies are all over big cities and two gangs are fighting over who should control the mall! Man those bikers were totally cold a**holes! They just left there friends in the food basket when they got shot off their bikes to get eaten up! I mean all they would have to do is stop their bikes turn around and pick them them up! Wouldn't ride around with those guys! When you think about it to the movie wasn't that bad. I can't believe it had no rating. Should have gotten just an r rating. I have seen lot worse in movies. I wonder if it has been shown on public TV. The only scene that was a little gruesome was the bikers getting eaten up. Other then that it wasn't that bad.
So now to the few things I thought were just a tad silly about the film. If you think about it logically if the zombies were that slow walking around in mostly in big cities. Don't you think all the Government would have to do would be fly helicopters over the cities and just mow them down with machine guns. Come on all those rednecks were taking care of them in the country no problem . Hell they were having a good time with it. How could that be a major problem if the zombies were that slow. All the zombies at the mall and our four heroes were having a good time mowing down large numbers of them. I guess George never though of that or hoped audiences wouldn't realize it. It's a small complaint though. Also it was never told what was making the dead rise back up and killing the living. Wish they would have given you more info on that. Like I said I loved Dawn. I put it up with the Original Jaws, Halloween, Rosemary's Baby and Shock Waves. It was the best out of the three of them. Night was great, way ahead of it's time. Very dark and disturbing. Day sucked totally! That was the positively the worst movie I have ever seen in my life! George must have been bored or stoned to make that. I have seen b movies better then that!
