The movie nicely portrays how a family might feel and react when one of their loved ones go missing. Hugh Jackman as the doting father has superbly portrayed the travails and the emotions that run through his family when his young daughter goes missing. He is ably supported by Maria Bello (as his wife and doting mom of their kids) and Terrence Howard (the neighbor whose family gets into the same situation as Jackman's).
The supporting cast includes the fine performance of Paul Dano (as Alex Jones) as a person with a low IQ who happens to be a suspect in this case. The detective as portrayed by Jack Gyllenhall has delivered a gritty and subdued performance in his pursuit to solve the case. Cinematography by Roger Deakins captures the chilly mood of the location as the essence of the characters. The 'suspense' part of the movie is fairly guessable for the average movie goer. Director Denis Villenuve has managed to present the story in a fair, just manner capturing the emotions of its lead characters as the story &/ situations in it unfolds.
I will rate this movie 7 out of 10. Regards, Ganesh.
