Under the Skin (I) (2013)
2/10
Arthouse trash
28 December 2021
This movie got under my skin. It was just weird arthouse trash. It made little to no sense. Scarlett taking off her clothes was the only thing stopping this from being a 1. If you are making a movie at least try to explain things. A story with no explanation is just a complete mess. How this won 21 awards and got a further 120 nomination I have no idea.

A Worthy sequel.
11 July 2021
This film had all the looniness you'd expect from a loony tunes movie. Its very fast paced, it's often stupid but thats kinda to be expected. I was entertained and never bored that's all I can really ask for. Worth checking out not amazing but passable.

As good as the 1st!
2 April 2021
Just like the first movie this 2nd film is a fun filled family movie everyone can enjoy. It's cute its funny and full of great characters.

My only real complaint was its runtime is very short. That's however understandable kids often have much shorter attention spans.

This is a must see especially at Easter.

Give it a chance
23 March 2021
Not sure why this movie is rated so low (low 5s) it's not a masterpiece but it is a decent thriller. This film I see more as a thriller then a sci-fi/horror which it is listed as.

I loved how the mystery slowly unfolds it is a bit on the slow side but it certainly kept my interest the whole way. The ending is a bit open ended but it's up to your interpretation and it really doesn't need spelling out for you anymore then it is. Give it a go!!

Isn't comedy suppose to be funny? Or am I missing something.
6 March 2021
Another sequel no one wanted or asked for. A sequel that's just a payday for a bunch of the original washed up cast. 30 year old jokes aren't funny anymore and neither is Eddie Murphy. No real effort or love was put into this film. I wish Hollywood would stop making bad movies like this.

All the small things
5 March 2021
Its a real shame they didn't think of the little things when they wrote the script from this film.

This movie is pretty bad but many of the things that make it bad I'd have to explain in detail and give spoilers. So I'll keep it short, great performances bad script and pointless. I wouldn't waste my money wait till it's on streaming.

Chaos Walking (2021)
4/10
Chaos is pretty accurate.
5 March 2021
I dont even know where to start this whole film is a chaotic mess. The walking part of the title is also pretty accurate. The 2 main characters are pretty much walking thru the woods the whole movie.

The visible thoughts flying around just get annoying. This doesn't feel like $125m movie it feels more like a $25m one. It's just pointless, DONT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY.

Two people argue the end
11 February 2021
That sums up this movie it's 2 people in a clearly toxic relationship arguing over dumb things. I've had more interesting arguments then this up the local pub. I should film myself next time and call myself a movie director. Boring boring boring who knows why I even finished it. This was more painfully to watch then my grandmother dying in front of my eyes. Never again

Predictable but that's not always bad.
17 April 2020
A Champion Heart is an often predictable movie like so many animal based movies are. It does however have a good message and is a sweet family film. I was watching this while babysitting and my nephew actually put down his toys and started watching it with me. We both enjoyed it.

Apparently this is a Christian movie, I had no idea till I came here to IMDb it never preachers to the viewer and as an atheist I respect that.

Darker and grittier Jungle Book tale.
7 December 2018
This is a much darker and grittier "Jungle Book" tale. Very much different from Disney's version. No song and dance musical numbers here. Not suited to children certainly not younger kids anyway.

It's different enough to Disney's version to make it worth watching. You don't feel like you're watching a cheap imitation.

The visuals are great but not quiet Disney great but expected from a lower budget. I don't feel the story was quiet as strong. A solid 7/10 (Jungle Book 9/10).

The BBQ (2018)

Very cringeworthy Australian film
9 August 2018
Bought this off Google play the other day for $3 and I so wish I could get my money back. This is another shocking Aussie movie. Another reviewer says is a down right embarrassment for Australians and I 100% agree. It didn't help that the night before I had watched the great Aussie film The Castle. How far the mighty Australian film industry has falling when we continue to get junk like this.

All the actors were terrible in this too but it was more the script they were working with then the lack of talent. Manu who i can't stand at the best of times is particularly annoying. Magda Szubanski's butcher character wasn't any better and even Shane Jacobson couldn't rescue this film.

House Shark (2017)
1/10
Really bad and not in a so bad it is good way.
4 August 2018
This movie is shockingly bad and this is coming from someone who loves bad movies and the cheesier the better. Honestly bad acting is to be expected in a movie called House Shark but what I didn't expect was for the main 3 guys to be sooo annoying I wanted to turn it off. The Abraham Lincoln wannabe and the Scottish house shark expert were most annoying. I waited for some really funny/bad lines and some stupid kill scenes. You get nothing like this you dont even see a shark for almost the whole film.

If you want to see a so bad it's good shark movie go watch Raiders of the lost Shark or the Sharktopus movies (much better then Sharknado). I can't believe I paid $3 for this. I'm off to watch Sharkopus vs Whalewolf to try and forget this crap.

Dunkirk (2017)

Good but over-hyped
20 July 2017
I write this review when this movie has a high rating making it the greatest movie of all time I think for the most part this is Nolan fan boys and fan girls it really isn't that great.

To me a war movie should invoke a huge emotional response. It should bring you to tears and have you leaving the cinema thinking wow I hope I never have to be put in that position. The great war movies of the past have invoked that response from me. Even Hacksaw Ridge from last year I felt so much emotions watching it. I didn't get that with this movie at all.

This movie is so beautiful shot it is truly amazing but it has little else on offer. I found the British accents hard to understand at time like I needed subtitles. I get it is a British movie so this isn't really a complaint but it did lessen it's appeal to me. I also found the directing to at times feel messy. All the interweaving stories made it hard to really get into the movie.

I really feel this movie is overrated it is not a bad movie but Nolan really is not as good as people make out he is. This is a bit over-hyped and not even the best movie this year let alone of all time.

So bad it is good
24 January 2017
As a lover of bad movies especially bad action movies this was very enjoyable. This movie starts out with a ridiculous scene where Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is skiing thru a rain forest in Brazil. From this point is really only gets worse, so many times I cringed so hard then laughed.

I found so many of the action scenes to be comical and so did many others in the cinema I was in. Vin Diesel was so awful he provided most of the unintentional comedy. Donnie Yen was brilliant in this and is a real highlight. Loads of eye candy and beautiful woman and of course for the woman you get many shots of Vin's gun as he flexes them every change he gets. Many times throughout the movie they seemed to want to position this as another Fast and the Furious style franchise. Even the title "RETURN OF XANDER CAGE" suggests this but it is unlikely to gain enough support for more movies.

While this film is bad you will walk away wanting more. Like eating ice cream after midnight this is a guilty pleasure.

Let's Be Evil (2016)

Don't waste you time
13 December 2016
Seen this movie on Netflix it looked interesting. I came here to IMDb to find out a bit more info on it and noticed it's high rating and stupidly gave it a go.

DO NOT BE FOOLED LIKE ME!!!!!! A lot of inflated ratings of 10 but this movie is rubbish. Basically the entire movie 3 idiots walk up and down a corridor with weird flashing lights and trying to act scared. I had no care if they lived or died in fact I wanted them all to die so this movie could finally end. Not really anything I can say that is actually good about the movie it had me somewhat amused for a while it's not scary and it is not even in the least bit thrilling or suspenseful.

I can't believe I wasted my time watching this movie. I hope in writing this you will save yourself precious time and watch something worthwhile
