Modern Love (2019)
Sweet. The stories made me happy.
Love the series and it made me fall in love again with this beautiful city, New York, surrounded by beautiful people and their beautiful stories. Waiting for the second season
Typewriter (2019)
Poor narrative style & a plagiarised story
This is a cheap and simplistic Indian version of Stranger Things. The actors were great but none of the characters are well developed. I gave it a two star out of ten only for the innocence of the children. The directions should go and find a different profession.
The Family Man (2019)
A must watch
All the episodes are highly thrilling and narrated beautifully by the director. The plot is very strong and it's well acted out. I like that the story doesn't sit in Mumbai instead it spreads cross country. The main character played by Manoj Bajpayee is smart, brave yet very funny at times. The story tries to balance between him as a family man and an Intelligence Officer. Looking forward to the second season!
Bard of Blood (2019)
Terrible acting and dialogue. Bad direction and weak screenplay.
The acting is horrible, and, the lines are delivered terribly. They talk more than they show. Weak screenplay. Also, the story is very generic and it was made into movies many time before this. The director has no clue about "directing the actors," he made his actors deliver memorised dialogues without caring about its believability. Couldn't watch more than one episode. Not recommended.
The God of Small Things (2017)
Absolutely beautiful and heart breaking at the same time.
Absolutely beautiful and sophisticated storytelling. The film starts slowly by observing daily life of a village farmer and his family. As the story progress forward, the editing of the film escalates dramatically. The film starts with showcasing peaceful and serene Bengali landscape, and it ends with a bloody massacre. Beautiful sound and set design. The actors are amazing too. The filmmaker tried to pay an homage to Satyajit Ray's "Pather Panchali." At the end, it successfully leaves an emotional burden in the heart of the audience. A must watch.
Guava Island (2019)
Guava Island's narrative style is a copy of the film "The God of Small Things (2017)."
Guava Island's (2019) narrative style is a copy of the film "The God of Small Things (2017)." The film's duration, aspect ratio, editing style, cinematography is almost exactly the same except the story of Guava Island is really weak compared to strong plot and visuals of "The God of Small Things". The scene where the music festival takes place and followed by later scenes are almost exactly the same. Both films are available on Prime. One should watch them both and judge on their own.
