Orphan Black (2013–2017)
10/10
My most loved... ever!
26 June 2020
Orphan Black is THE best I have seen, ever, on series, on movies, on everything. It combines an excellent scenario (not that far from what is coming!), science, an amazing casting and an overall setting that keeps you into it from the first 10 minutes of episode 1 to the end (and you feel sad only because you won't be seeing the sestra(s) any more, unless thanks of Netflix, you play it from the beginning, which is what I'm doing now!). Tatiana Maslany, I LOVE YOU. She is playing ten or so different characters, scene by scene, and often in the same scene, all different in temperament, in ideocracy, in style and still all recognizable. She hugged herself, she shot herself, she fought herself, she did everything. What an acting! She made us love Sara, Cosima, Helena, Alison, even Beth and Rachel and get connected to them, with her talent and expressive play. Excellent! Of course, the rest of the casting is also amazing; Jordan Gavaris you are a god... deeply into his role, enjoyable in every episode. All of them are super. One of the best moments of TV. A 10+ mark to the writers, the directors, the cast, all the crew. Thank you for creating this masterpiece. P.S. Dear Tony Hendrix, I sympathize with you my friend with all you suffered from Alison :)

The Intern (I) (2015)
10/10
Robert and Anne at their best.
5 October 2015
I just got back from the cinema theater. It's past midnight. I feel so moved and inspired by this film that instead of going to bed I felt like writing something about it. I went to watch "The Intern" with some reluctance, I admit. Anne was the decisive factor! Sorry Mr. De Niro but she is gorgeous and cute at the same time.

Still… They say that actors, lawyers and doctors never retire. The older they become the better they perform. Robert De Niro proved that. If not the best, one of the best acts of his life. So expressive, so emotional, so… everything! The combination of the ages, the development of the story, the whole concept of the movie were excellent. Loved it. I haven't seen better of Anne Hathaway since "The Devil wears Prada". The couple, the whole cast, matched perfectly.

Fully recommended for all ages. I give it 10 without thinking twice.

Big Hero 6 (2014)
10/10
One of the best films I have seen
9 November 2014
Great, amazing, excellent. I feel lucky that I got my daughter to watch this film and I have equally enjoyed it. One of the best of Disney's. The story kept the interest during the whole film. Laugh, emotion, action, message, friendship, family, inspiration… had it all. Fully recommended to parents with children but anyone will enjoy it. Really worth it.

What touched me the most was the message tried to pass on of getting of the chair and fight for a purpose. Firstly the effort of the older brother, to help his brother stop wasting his bright mind and get him to the university. Then Hiro himself tries to fight the loss of his brother with the help of the robot and the other friends.

Scored it 10 without thinking. One of the best films I have seen, among all categories, not only the cartoons one.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
5/10
I can't understand why this film got this high ranking!
2 November 2014
I was tempted to stop watching it about four times. I went up to the end just to see if, at least, there is something extraordinary or unexpected there. I really can't understand what all these viewers found to this film, to score it so high. It's the first time (or the second I'm not sure!) that I get into the mood of writing a review. The reason, I guess, is because this film is the fifth in the top 250 ranking and I couldn't see why. The curiosity of the ranking was also the reason of watching it at the first place. There is a high end casting and a top level director but nothing more, IN MY OPINION. I tried looking it through the eyes of 1994 but still compared to other productions of the age is far behind. If you find yourself in the position wondering whether to watch this film or not, due to its place in the list… don't waste your time!
