Partygate (2023 TV Movie)

One starts watching slightly amused....but soon one is appalled!

I had a low opinion of Boris as a leader but could see his attraction to some as a sort of cheeky schoolboy charm. I believe he is highly intelligent but totally self centered .. the reconstructions here are Not particularly dramatic or amazing but the sheer scale of continued ramshackle behavior at the heart of Government in perhaps the most serious time I have ever experienced in the UK in my life( I am 73) is sickening... I do think Time will show Boris as the worst Leader and most self centered Prime Minister we have had....

It does cover the period of the crisis and feature real and reconstructed footage Well worth watching and a very important record for future historians!!

Terrible music track am sorry to say!

Bought film, tried twice to finish watching it, could not...I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan , ever since memento... so sad .

I have followed his career with great interest enjoying his diverse range of topics. He has been a great exponent of science fiction, but this film just becomes repetitive and confusing, plus I could not engage with the characters or storyline. This eas a great disappointment as I was really looking foward to watching this film.

The soundtracks to all his other films have been masterpieces in their own right, but sadly this pne was very dominant and unpleasant tolisten to at times, it became a barroer rather than a compliment to the storyline...

However!! He has redeemed himself with Oppenheimer...absolutely superb fim...with fine sound track too.!

The Newsreader (2021– )

Surprisingly engaging and entertaining!

We recorded this to watch based on a couple of uk newspaper reviews. We were pleasantly surprised that it was so well crafted and it looked like it was recoded in the 80's. ...I had to double check it was a new show! Its light easy watching with an engaging story line. I have only neen to Australia twice... to help shoot someUK commercials...both times were during the timeline of this program ( i travelled out the day the Space shuttle exploded) so maybe thats partly why I enjoyed it so much!

Cosmos (I) (2019)

A work of Love....a true Gem of a Film

I stumbled on this film by chance...knew none of the background details about budget etc. It is a great piece of film making about friendship, dedication, science and wonder. Will not be everyone's cup of tea...but great discoveries do get made like this by dedicated guys.....and for those who write films like this off with low ratings...not everything has to be a block buster, low key can be thought provoking and tense if it is well acted and directed as this film is.

Very enjoyable.....andI have watched the version Francais

I did enjoy "call my agent" for its quirkiness, its humor, scenes of Paris , wit etc. But After watching 2 series I found trying to read the subtitles as fast as the actors said the lines more and more difficult and .distracting. But it was entertaining and fun. I find this version has much of the same spirit but being able to concentrate on watching the acting nuances , instead of desperately reading the sub titles very rewarding. I have watched 3 episodes so far and and enjoying getting in to it, its An English version of the original, not simply a translation of the original....and as such I find it an enjoyable watch.

I never normally leave reviews but trust the negative reviews! Its glossy and looks good , but its a silly plot and should be described as SF fantasy, My wife and I feel we have totally wasyed our time watching this silly drawn outstory.
