Insidious: The Red Door (2023)

Great addition to the franchise

Insidious is one of my favourite movies. I thought 2 was ok but wasn't a fan of the others. This movie has the same feel as 1 & 2 but is also enjoyably different. The jumps scares and the build up are fun, don't feel redone and are still able to strike the same cord as as the previous movies.

The story itself was good, perfect way to continue the families storyline and build upon the characters. However , there are some limitations but I can't tell if I feel that way because I'm such a die hard fan and horror nerd or they are actual issues that take away from the movie. I feel like the third act has a lot of material that was left on the cutting room floor. The scenes in the Further felt rushed, considering it's importance to the story and the general pace of the movie. Regardless I will watch it again and I'd be excited for anything related to the franchise further especially if Wilson or Wan are directing.

This is movie fits well with the others or could be a great stand alone movie to horror fans. Don't nerd out and just enjoy it.

The Rental (2020)

Suspenseful new revamp to a classic genre

I enjoyed this movie because I wasn't sure when the action was going to kick off, the pacing had me tense for most of the movie and I was absorbed in the character drama. I loved the final act and the ending credits had me nostalgically hoping for a sequel or a similar vibe slasher movie to follow.

Just Another Christmas (2020)

A new classic

Fun comedy with a great emotional attachment. I will watch this each year. I enjoyed every part of this film. Thank you for making a new Christmas classic.

Charming (2018)

Wanted to love this but just couldn't

Demi is amazing. I wanted to love this movie. The soundtrack was great Demis voice acting was on point but the writing just left something to be desired. There just felt like there was stuff missing. We needed an adorable 3rd party to bring in more comedy and sass the bird was great but the part was so small. The story felt as though part of it was left on the editing floor almost like a book adaptation where you're expected to already love and care for the characters and are there for the highlights. All in all the idea was good, I loved how they pulled so many well loved tales together to feature in this but it is a forgettable movie.

Smallfoot (2018)

Funny loveable movie with a nice message

The movie was beautiful, entertaining and funny. It had a good take away message and the casting was great. There was something missing though, I can't put my finger on it but something was missing from this that stops it from standing out as a fantastic movie. Maybe we need more songs or other lovable side characters I don't know. I did enjoy this but it's not my favourite this year

Lethal Weapon (2016–2019)

Goodbye to an amazing show

Wriggs is the heart and soul of the leathal weapon franchise and Clayton took that and made it his own. He created a cowboy we all fell in love with. Strong, complex, sarcastic with a heart of gold... you can't continue this show without him. Viewers will not be following this show. No doubt the first episode of season 3 will have viewers just so they can all hate on the new casting but it will tank after that. This was such an enjoyable show and a credit to the movies, so disappointed in Fox's idea to dump him. You've ruined something I've loved I'm not going to be watching any more. Heartbroken.
