A really good adaptation (not a remake) but the dialogues can use some work
23 February 2024
The scenes are beautiful, and I loved the way the cities, streets and villages were setup. It added more character to the set. I also loved the way that extra content from the comics and rest of the canon was added. There was also new content to provide more depth to characters that was not explored in the original, and in my opinion that was done well. But the dialogues at times felt really cheesy. Same with the dialogues which were there for exposition, they felt forced or unnatural. Also most of the cast acted really well except for a few, but I believe they will be able to smoothen out the rough edges. Overall, it was a really good watch.

A Pretty Story for the Mind, the Eyes and the Ears
12 January 2020
This movie does create a graphical melancholic atmosphere in your mind with its artsy animation and ambient soundtrack. The imagery used with the igloo, the fly and, of course, the hand, draws a parallel with the various aspects of the human protagonist's life albeit in the end you cannot help but feel strong emotions for the hand as well. I will have to admit though that when I watched the movie first I found the ending underwhelming because I did not expect for the movie to end there, but in retrospect, if you spend even fifteen minutes thinking about the movie and the ending, you will realize the significance of all the elements used in story.

This movie made no sense
16 January 2017
This movie was awful and a massive waste of time. Physics is apparently non existent. The NSA guards are worse than storm-troopers at shooting. A huge cast but no character development at all and you get no idea of their names as well. The plot makes no sense at all. The acting is all over the place as well. Flying planes, flying cars, flying people and even a goddamn flying boat. Then there are people who definitely should have been killed but still they stay alive and then there are people who died and I don't know how. Overall, one word that perfectly describes this movie is 'pretentious'. It tries to define what's cool and what's not but fails miserably. I wanted to write a sarcastic post about this one, but this stupid movie doesn't deserve that. I hope everyone sues the crap out of the producers for creating such a godawful movie.

An original take on a modern issue
28 June 2015
I just so happened to stumble upon the show and decided to give it a try because I am a programmer as well. And I am glad I decided to watch it that day. These guys have taken up a great theme and Rami Malek has done great justice to the lead character as well. We have seen movies on this genre but it is good to see an excellent series picking it up as well. The prospect of the world being run by faceless people is already quite popular in this skeptical modern world. The producers decided to have a go at it and executed it perfectly. I can sense that they are trying to build the thrill starting at the pilot episode itself. What can be hoped is that by the time the season gets over we shall be pretty satisfied (and more skeptical) about what just went down. Hopefully, this shall continue into the future episodes and, possibly, seasons as well.
