God's Favorite Idiot (2022)
Writers thinking their every word is hilarious
Another dismal vanity project. If paid by the word, they've hit the jackpot. If paid by the laughs then no one's going to the bank. Rapid fire word salads, back and forth, going nowhere. Especially nowhere near a joke. This reminds me of Mike Myers Pentaverate. The ego has left the writer thinking everything is comedy gold and the actor relishes every line they've created. Just more dull stuff from Netflix.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
It's a dinosaur movie not a documentary
Hey have fun watching a dumb dinosaur movie just like when you were a kid at a Saturday matinee. Cheer for the good guys and fear not any nightmares as the movie likely won't stay with you 5 minutes after you leave the theater.
The Pentaverate (2022)
Painfully unfunny.
What a steaming pile of garbage. About as unfunny as Last One Laughing Canada. Drives home the problem with vanity projects. Stale jokes that were never funny. Whoever gave this wretched project the green light should be fired.
LOL: Last One Laughing Canada (2022)
Zero laughs.
This was a struggle to get through. Poor acting, pacing and editing. Cringe volume is set at 10. And the biggest sin, just not funny. Go watch old podcasts of Norm MacDonald if you gotta have a combination of Canadian and funny.
The Long Call (2021)
Very preachy.
A murder mystery plus a ton of social preaching. Seems the latter was more important to the writers and actors. Some characters are one dimensional and others so complex as to be unrealistic. I'm sure there will be more in this series as it'll be seen as too important to fail.
The Kingdom (2007)
2 views. Husband enjoyed it...Wife hated it.
I was enthralled with this movie. Felt it hit the right combination of action and serious drama. Sure, some parts of the evidentiary story line came together pretty quick; but i wasn't left rolling my eyes and shaking my head at the teams needle-in-a-haystack success. With so many characters sometimes it's hard to attach yourself to them, but i found myself pulling for a successful mission. the cookie-cutter characters (oily politicians) did not dampen my enjoyment. My wife however saw nothing redeeming about the movie. She felt it was a straight-ahead brainless action movie with a shaky storyline and poor acting (garner). She thought it was a "guy movie". I strongly disagreed with her. But there was no moving her. If she were voting she'd have given it a 1 or 2. Ouch !!!
