Star Trek: Discovery: Red Directive (2024)
Roddenberry would choke on his regurgitated breakfast
I have never seen anything this bad, other than the movie, Xanadu. It is unrecognizable as a derivative of Star Trek. The characters, the sets, the special effects, and the music all distract from each other. If there was a plot, it certainly did evade my view.
For whatever reason, they decided to make a fifth season, and I have no concept of what that may be, This venture into this Star Trek ( It isn't) Universe was unnecessary , boring and useless. From the moment each character spoke, I didn't believe them, found them annoying, and hoped they would stop talking soon.
I have been watching Star Trek from season one episode one of the original series from the Day originally aired and I Have watched each episode since multiple times, with the exception of Star trek Discovery. I'm sure the lead character and captain of this series is a very nice person, but the perception I find is that she's incredibly unlikable. I'd rather sign on to a ship run by Captain Jellico.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
A labotomy of a movie
If I had ever watched a movie worse than this, it was the second Aquaman, but not by much. How these people can justify spending all that money and all that time creating such useless drivel, it amazes me. There was not one redeeming character, plot point, or entertainment value throughout the film. Perhaps, someday, a contemporary filmmaker will be able to amalgamate a story in this genre that will perhaps stimulate the viewer to have some kind of interest in its characters, however, this doesn't. Somehow, this seem to include all of the worst of special effects without any redeeming value I would rather watch stalactites form, then see any further iterations of this movie.
The Northman (2022)
Wait for it, wait for it......
I waited, but nothing. I wonder what was on the cutting room floor? It was barely a good try. Sometimes the best of intentions are not good enough to produce a final masterpiece. There were very few believable moments in this attempt at an epic journey. It certainly made a good stab, all pun intended, at a good movie. But in the end it was predictable and unsatisfying I would certainly watch other efforts at bringing this culture to an audience like Vikings. Unfortunately, the casting was sketchy and less than accurate. I hope more movies would be made in this genre that have greater fidelity.
The Equalizer 2 (2018)
Denzel is so good
Although Denzel plays this character brilliantly , the plot was transparent , early in the movie. Suspenseful, well shot and overall coherent, it still lacked that itch.
