Travelers: Perrow (2018)
keeps you guessing
Great show, shame it had to end. Not sure why, since it was a well reviewed show?
Now on to what I skip through on my binge watch. Every-time David is on screen I roll my eyes, and skip, skip, skip, kinda the same with Kat, not so much Jeff, for at least he's unpredictable.
There already has be amble discusses on what the show does wrong, and holes in concept appear almost in every episode. So I am not here to take shots.
I am a late comer to this show, thank you Pandemic, but not really.
I needed a bingeable show to watch and his made the cut. Like I said great show, fantastic concept, new ideas about time travel, blah, blah, blah
so this is not so much a review than a confirmation of a show that could have been the new Lost, but Netflix pulled the plug after 3 seasons. maybe JJ Abrams is in between projects and can reboot this on Hulu or Prime?
This particular episode uses messengers in truly create sense.
oh and the fight scene being blurry was still epic.
Sad to see this show go.
Joker (2019)
Average at best
What are folks going on about and giving this a 10 that's ridiculous.
It's mediocre-at-best I will admit Phoenix, his performance is melancholy and ferocious.
But I've come to expect the best from Joaquin.
I was loaned this from a neighbor, I am so grateful that I didn't go out and spend hard-earned dollars on this product.
My favorite collateral superhero comic book character is Batman and I prefer the Chris Nolan Batman.
it was slow and dragged in parts. Robert De Niro was superfluous
I also borrowed a little lesser-known flick called Lighthouse with William Dafoe much more satisfaction.
Boyne Falls (2018)
Really?
I stumbled across this flick while surfing my Amazon Prime. I've been on a post-apocalyptic world Film Fest lately. I previewed the trailer and it looked interesting at first glance.
Then I started it. Did not take long to notice that the acting seemed sporadic. Filmmaker never really did try to connect to audience by providing a likeable character.
I suppose if I were to pick one character that halfway someone could relate to probably be Eddie. His buddy Dominique, spelling could be different. But in the end it really doesn't matter the movie is flat ,soundtrack nonexistent. The pace of the film was a dogged. The villains in the movie are just as ass backward. The female villain could have just got the part due to her attractive package.
What little suspense there was is overshadowed my poor performance.
And on a positive note the cinematography wasn't that bad.
P.S. in the flashbacks what sums up Eddie's character is his lack of realistic facial expressions. Yet in the end he's a hero of the film. Three stars for whoever got financing for this movie must be a genius in pitching movie ideas.
Roar (1981)
It's no lion king, but close
Just why? After that is answered, I found it nibble and campy in a way that one could found a cult...The actoring, lossenly releases the odd intention pulsating throughout the running time...It's a movie, someone made it-that alone is worthy of something?
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Half way there.
I'm not sure what other critics saw- what I saw was a weak impression using watercolors instead of oil. Unless this movie was done tongue and cheek , I do hope that there is another one in the works that will actually capture the true essence of Queen in Freddy Mercury. Seems most of the real story was left aside to fondle one's genitals in Fantasyland.
I supposed to each their own if you enjoyed it good for you.
Sausage Party (2016)
No haters
Let's get realistic here what did you expect from this movie?
From the minds that gave us this movie it's fairly obvious where it was going. The movie was fantastically funny. The bath salt seems alone was enough to buy the ticket. And if you bought the ticket you might as well take the ride.
Zombieland (2009)
Zombies can be fun!
fun flick...entertaining up until the end sequences . My beef-These gals were the smartest of the smart to survive in the wild as it were. However, the end they show none of the same moxie that defined them. Ditching the truck seemed to set up the rescue, but little else, for who would give up their vehicle while a horde of zombies were chasing you? Many here compare this movie to Shaun of the dead-the sensibility of an UK humorist, and an American humorist seems light years apart to me. Over all the flick surely has merit and Bill Murray cameo was pitch perfect, and his dissing Garfield gave me a laugh-This movie was filmed in the town I was living in at the time, Newnan, GA-for that reason alone I give it a watchable rate of 7
all the actors shine ..
