DNA do Crime (2023)
Overall, it was a great show, though some of the dialogue between the actors felt cartoonish
I really liked the show. My family works in the Federal Police in Brazil, and from what I've seen, 99% of the work involves paperwork and dealing with verbal abuse from a "delegado".
But, of course, the show is fiction, and it's done well. I had a blast watching it, especially because it didn't have the same old actors you see in every Brazilian show (the lame Globo Actors). The show has everything you want from a crime show. Worth watching!
My only problem was with the dialogue. Some lines and curse words felt too fake, like something out of a comedy sketch from Hermes & Renato. This is a common issue in Brazilian movies and series; the dialogue doesn't feel real enough, which is important for a show like this.
Bom Dia, Verônica: Quem é Doúm? (2024)
Lazy writers, b-movie script.
This programme is simply dreadful.
They aim to depict the main character as highly intelligent, yet in the first scene, she's seen fooling around in a stable with the man who is clearly the villain she's looking for. It's just moronic.
They attempt to portray her as a female counterpart to Jason Bourne, but she comes across more like Michael Scarn from The Office, haha.
The dialogue is laughable and pedestrian, reminiscent of a B-movie script.
Such a shame.
Why didn't Rodrigo Santoro read the script and think, "Damn, I've got to avoid this one"?
The KGB, CIA, Mossad, NSA, and the Navy SEALs must be vying to recruit Veronica onto their teams (this is clearly a joke).
Bom Dia, Verônica: Boa Noite, Verônica (2024)
a dumb b-movie script.
This is utterly absurd, ludicrous.
This Veronica character is akin to a James Bond, but in a negative sense. The scene where all the girls suddenly become a group of assassins is so absurd that it's laughable; the entire scene is grotesque, from the chanting to the girls wielding guns and shooting everyone, reminiscent of natural born killers. The dialogue is unintelligent, resembling b-movie scripts; some of the lines are so contrived and forced that they provoke laughter.
Everyone in this show seems dumb and clueless, except Veronica.
She's like a mix of a detective, Navy SEAL, CIA, NSA, and KGB, but in a bad way.
The ending of the episode with her small group of girls is laughable. I wonder if some of these people are actual actors or just random individuals hired because they have connections to someone on the production team.
Sentença (2022)
Not that bad, not that good
I wanted to give it a try and watch a brazilian tv show.
The main actress is too much; the supporting actors are really bad actors (some of them you can't really call actors), but the plot isn't that bad (it's only ok).
Thumbs up: the plot.
Thumbs down: the cast (most of the time it felt fake and extremely awkward).
Elize Matsunaga: Era uma Vez um Crime (2021)
The dead has no voice
It's like my grandmother used to say: "The dead has no voice".
Elize is a human that did a huge mistake, and she still has her rights, but it's a bit disgusting to interview a cold blood killer and let her talk trash about the person she killed and mutilated. And of course, the dead husband has no way to defend himself from all the nonsense and accusations coming out of his killer's mouth.
The documentary makes you almost forget that she shot him in the head and cut his body in small pieces and threw it in the bush, such a poor lady.
I watched until the end but I can definitely say I don't really see the point of watching this documentary.
Making a cold murder a victim.
