Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
Out of the darkness the joker is born
6 October 2019
First off I have to say this is one of my favourite films of the year. Joaquin Phoenix plays a great portrayal as Arthur Fleck the man who in turn becomes the Joker, trying to fit into society and let down by society and Joaquin should win an Oscar for his performance in the film.

Other reviews giving low scores saying it's not a joker film and not like Leto or Ledger. Each actor adds their stamp to a role as this isn't what Joaquin has done plus this movie is set before Arthur becomes the joker so it's all the back story leading up to the finale and the birth of the joker.

People giving this film poor votes must not appreciate the film and yes it's a dark film but it portrays life and life isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

I'd certainly go back to the cinema for a second viewing

You'll sink too
5 September 2019
After seeing part 1 and absolutely loving it I couldn't wait to see part 2 and decided to book the double bill tonight on the isense screen as I was looking forward to seeing.

Have to say after coming out of the film I felt a bit let down as whether I set my expectations too high I'm not sure but I just didn't love part 2 as much as part one. Some amazing cinematography in the film especially the start with all the balloons coming down from the bridge.

I'll go and see it a second time as I've got a Limitless card and see how I feel second time round.

It's not a bad film but my personal opinion is it a scratch on the first film

Good Boys (2019)

Beanbag boys

After seeing a couple of different trailers and seeing the funny parts I was hoping that the best bits weren't just contained in the trailer like a lot of films now but I was pleasantly surprised that there was plenty of laughs in the film and it had the whole audience laughing.

People complaining that there is rude/crude references and drug references and slating the film because of if, it's 2019 and if you've never heard or seen any of these references before you must have been living under a rock and probably complained and asked for your money back at the cinema.

If you want a funny film with belly laughs and a film you can unwind and watch then this is the one for you. So far seen 72 films this year at the cinema and have to say this is the funniest one I've seen of the year so far and I'd go back and see it a second time.

Plenty of good scenes in the film but one of the favourites for me was the frat house scene but won't give anything away.

If you like funny films then give this a try and you won't be disappointed but if you watch songs of praise this film isn't for you as you probably won't like the rude references

Hellboy (2019)

Not as good as the original
16 April 2019
I was a bit sceptical about the new film as the original was really good and thought it was hard to top that

As a stand alone film it's a decent action film but doesn't compare to the quality of the original film and the new actor playing Hellboy just didn't have the oomph as the original actor or the presence in my opinion and the pig character played by Steven graham wasn't the best as didn't really feel that the character added much apart from swearing ever other line and I love Stevens work

Not a patch on the original
10 December 2018
Finished work early and thought I'd pop and see the film as saw the original a while back and really enjoyed it and after seeing the trailer for the second film I thought I was in for a treat. Unfortunately the second film for me anyway is a let down and not a patch on the first film as it just feels like a nothing film rushed and out together and sold on the success of the original film and all the best parts are in the trailer
