what the hell happend to the shape

wwwwwhat the hell happened to the shape? did he shrink from hittin the ground to much or what . All the elements are here for a scary movie there just not thought through enough and Rosenthal is no Carpenter. Remember this , the fact that Laurie is Michael's sister is thrown into this movie because it helped to create more motivation for Michael to still be after her . In the original film (which is the greatest horror movie ever made), he has a connection with her because they are both repressed, not because he is her brother. In the original ,Michael views Laurie as the prize of the night.I wish this one was done with a little more care or not even made at all like John Carpenter wanted. To me the way it ended in the first one was perfect,it left you in a state of mind like that was unsettlling .To bad that this one was not done with as much love as the original because it is kind of scary in way with the hospital atmosphere.Lots of blood took the place mood and atmosphere, but out of all the sequels this is the one to get.

Ghost Story (1981)

Good flick!! I wish they made them like this today!!

Watched this one in the theater when I was a kid, still enjoy it to this day as one my all time favorite movies. Yes, it does have holes in it and sparks some questions as to why the one seeking revenge is doing what they're doing. There are solid performances from ALL the cast members, especially from Craig Wasson and Alice Krieg If you've ever read the book by Peter Struab, you'll know why there's holes in the movie as the book is very much like a 'Stephen King' book, in that it is so rich with information and atmosphere that the film producers and John Irvin just could not get all of it into a 2 hour film. I actually a couple of years ago that they might be re'making this one, but as a Mini-Series on TV

I give it 8 out of 10 stars

Enjoy

something about the 70's & early to mid 80's horror films
18 February 2004
this is a good one despite what some of the other commentators I have been reading on this site.First of all it is a horror movie so don't go looking for some oscar nominating performances or some phenomenal script, just take it for what it is and don't be so critical of horror movies period, they are just trying to scare that is all-ok! Now that this is out of the way, let me help you in trying to recommend this movie to you . Out of the numerous horror flicks i have seen ,this is pretty good. Atmosphere and build up of tension make it work. Not a lot of blood but enough to get the point across,(like in the origanal halloween which had practically none)you don't need if it is already scary. Mood and atmosphere makes this movie work. it is definitly a better flick than those friday the 13th or nightmare on elm street series(both originals were desent) but this film is better than those two by a mile. Tobe Hooper has his own touches and doesn't try to copy anyone else or copy another movie, although there is a little tribute to the great John Carpenter at the beggining , this is a Tobe Hopper film. Yes i do recommend this film to anyone who wants to feel frightened or left with an uneasy feeling after you watching a horror film -But that is why we watch isn't it.

Halloween (1978)

the greatest horror movie of all time
18 February 2004
this is it ,no not the greatest slasher because it is not a slasher it is simply a scary movie from beginning to end .you are thrown off your easy chair and thrown into a creepy atmosphere by both film and the music . I would even say that this is more terrifying than the great Alfred Hitchcocks Psycho because it is more modern and i think it's more identifiable to most people today. If you have not seen this movie and you are a horror fan don't be expecting all the blood you see on the screen today in films, because it's not in this one,Carpenter sets mood and atmosphere instead blood and guts or if you have been holding off on seeing this movie because you think this a friday the 13th movie or a nightmare on elm st. movie you are dead wrong . this done with class, this is basically a drama with scares. THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST HORROR OF ALL TIME.THAT IS FACT

very very scary indeed .this actually came before the movie Halloween, and before When a Stanger Calls "have you checked the children" .This is the very first movie in which you see the killers point of view. this one is done very well indeed. the director is actually the guy who did A Christmas Story believe it or not
